Whats up my fellow farmers. I want to appologize first of all for the rant thats about to come. I am just so sick of know it all newbs that ask for help and then regardless of what you say or suggest they do shit their way anyhow. I am all for helping patients out don't get me wrong, but when a patient asks you to help them setup, install and even hook them up with cuts and then in the next few days because they picked up a 20 year old out of print book about growing reefer they are now an expert.

Listen up people. Plant count does not effect your yield! Lighting does. You are gonna get so much grams per watt if you grow 2 plants or 100 plants. It depends on your veg time and light intensity. Sure you will veg less time with 100 plants but if you fill your canopy you are gonna yield the same or close to the same in a scrog type scenario.

On a side note. LIGHT MOVERS SUCK. I had a newb last night tell me that you will get nearly the same quality of herb with light movers as you would with stationary lighting without loosing hardly any yield. Oh and he has seen this first hand. I want to slam my fucking head of of a cement wall. Why do people insist on being so damn stubborn? Sorry to rant guys but I had to vent to some people that are a little more experienced then the donkeys around here. I know one thing, I am done giving advise. These fucks can learn just like I did .... the hard way.

it happens alot the mentor relationship u have when helping people dies off really fast. u help people even the ones that failed for years. they even will tell u i never seen anything close to this. u show them a simple way and before u know it they are telling u "leds are were its at get wit the times dude!". dont get me wrong im all for people taking thier own path, just if it was me being taught i would keep that guy teaching me until i mastered his ways. the reason people go off on their own way is they dont understand the how or the why soemthing will work or not. i wouldnt take it to heart as you have done your part, now they only wants to listen to the stuff that will back up his argument. u can find the pros and cons to anything now on the internet in a moments notice no real research needed.

sometimes you need to just to smoke a joint and relax. realize you cant save the world no matter how much you care.

*chuckling* sorry, not at you, but with you (from one kitty to another ;)).
i know how frustrating it can be when you're giving your honest-to-goodness, tested-and-true advice and they don't listen, whether you're just a good person who wants to save someone some headaches or trying to protect your business interests from ignoramuses. i used to do clones, and if i got a dimebag every time some newbie killed all his/her babies with full-strength food (contrary to my specific instructions) and came complaining to me about MY product, i'd be sitting on an *empire* over here. (my stock response: "if you fried your electronics by plugging them into a 9volt battery instead of a AAA, would you still expect your warranty to be valid?")

that said, some of the best lessons in life come from fucking it up for ourselves, right? in my experience the road to being a good farmer is like the road to being a good human: we go at it with a certain arrogance until we fall down, and when we get back up we're held up by a little bit more humility each time.
(i don't know about you, but i'm pretty sure i've annoyed the *shit out of 1 or 2 people during my own learning process) *chuckling again*
these days when i encounter an arrogant newbie i'm just a little bit jealous, i think, because they're arrogant in a way you can only be if you've never thought you hit rock bottom AND THEN had the crop you were counting on to dig you out of there fail on you... and again... and find out it's a regional problem because you live in agri-land... *sigh*

humans are stubborn creatures; you could have a month of grow experience or 40 years, if i believe i've seen/experienced a pattern in my grows, good luck convincing me otherwise. time will tell so i don't have to. having to learn the hard way will just make better farmers of them, i figure if they don't want my 2 cents now, they'll remember it when they've run out of other options. don't stress yourself out about it anyway - not worth getting our whiskers in a twist, IMO. :animal0048::animal0048:

i'm kinda fond of my light movers but only in combination with a majority of stationaries... i would never use them exclusively. and when you're bored you can play 'grow frogger' (<-no.)

Mr.GoodCat I couldn't agree more!
You have hit the proverbial nail on the head!
This threads not a rant. It's a sad fact.......
It seems the less real knowledge folks have the more
they insist on being an expert, or better yet a "Master Grower"
I laugh every time someone throws that title out there.

Its best to "Fuck it up yourself" after you have learned the tried and tru methods from people that have done it. People that think they can go and come up with their own ida of how it should work, when they have little / no experience to draw from. So it just ends up a disaster nd they have no idea why. At least if you follow others then try your own stuff, you will have an idea or understanding why it did not work. Rather than, " Dude, the tips started turning yellow and crispy and 3 days later it dies."

It becomes, " I didn't have low enough water temps, or airation.. DO levels were too low, and I got root slime, the root system died, causing the total death of the plant. The yellowing of the leaves were a sign that the roots for some reason could not keep up with the nutritional needs of the plant and I should have caught it then."

I hope that made sence :bongsmi:

As a noob I have to say...

Screw it, we are gonna kill some crops. Some of that is trying to follow all the different advice we are thrown and all the misinfo out there. Most of it is our blind arrogance.

If there was a cookie cutter method to the madness that is growing a quality smoke things would be easier, but there isnt. Remember, perception does play a role. To a soil grower, a noob going UC is stupid and to an organic guy chem nutes make dog turds.

Have patience with us.

@lost: i couldn't agree more, but with some people it takes a few fuckups before they realize they're not "Master Growers" and might just be ready to learn from people who've already been down that road. maybe i'm a bit harsh, or a bit jaded, (or had more than my share of complete idiots blame me for their problems after disregarding my instructions, as i mentioned above) but until they've seen *that light, they're lost causes and a waste of my time and good energy.
i have no problems sharing what i've learned/experienced, and have no problem having my advice disregarded if it's for a pertinent reason, but seriously, if you did precisely what i told you not to do, don't complain to me, and on the same token, if you're going to make an *uninformed, just-for-shits-and-giggles decision anyway, or your mind's already made up, don't waste my time asking me my opinion because i might just be that complete asshole who tries to help you out or something. you know? :passingjoint:

Bwahahahahahaha.... it's all about pride. False pride, stupid pride. IMO, arrogance and stupidity walk hand-in-hand.
Been growing for years, and I know enough to realize I don't know nearly enough...

I offer advice when I know a solution, or see folks not getting any help. Whether or not folks heed the advice is not my problem. I am just making as many deposits in the Kharma Credit Union as possible.

I also must tell you that I have only reached this point after banging my head on a few walls with dumbasses who didn't listen in the past. It was SUPER frustrating when you've given them a special cut to propagate and they kill everything that comes within a ten-foot radius of their "expertise"....

On that note, I'm going to hook up black lights and strobe lights right next to my LEDs and trim every single fan leaf off my plants, all while smoking a cigarette in the grow and driving nails through the stems...

haha, edit: Anyone who feels the need to put "master" anything in front of their job title has serious self-esteem issues...

un-grand master grower here knows a lil absorbs alot-lol--i feel ive had my ups and downs with growing i consider my self a seasoned grower-after fifteen-16 years im still learning new tricks of the trade --and am able to admit most of the growers on here could blow me away with the knowledge base but thats what us seasoned gardeners are teachers as well as students

Thanks for all the kind responses my fellow farmers. I guess it is just an overwhelming feeling of frustration when you put your time and effort into trying to help out someone that really has no clue whats going on and then that person spits in your face. (Not literally, lol) I am just taking this with a grain of salt and let them learn the same way I did. By no means am I master grower and I have said this time and time again. These plants always teach me new lessons in every grow. I am grateful for this, if I ever learn it all someone kick me square in the nuts.
