I also have cut wet and dry, and the only neg. thing about dry cutting i found is when the leaves begin to tighten and dry up its very hard and tedious to actually get out the brown small leaves that shrivel lup inside.

If you are holding onto product longer then this your taking unnecessary risk. Let the next guy in line cure it if they want to imo.

I occasionally leave a standout or two to dry with the leaves but the rest gets the trimpro and a clothesline.

I like to give my girls a rough trim when they are wet and the fine trim after fully curred.

I do it DJ Shorts method (see the thread "Cure Your Medicine" for full info).

Hang whole minus big fans, when crispy on the outside but damp inside then trim, hang nugs in brown bags for a few days and then jars. Gives the best results ime.

Oh, let me clarify.

If you can afford to jar all your weed, you're either (in my opinion) wasting a lot of money on jars or not having to use very many jars. You also have loads of time to just stand around burping jars. That's assuming you're having to store tens of pounds, though.

Basically, I prefer efficiency, and jars ain't it. I learned the hard way how certain aspects of growing, drying, curing, and storing change when the volume changes. I had been warned, but hadn't quite appreciated it fully til I got my first big harvest and I stood there looking at several dozen jars and said, "Oh, fuck this shit."

Went to paper bags, plastic bins and vacuum sealing and haven't looked back.

so u let everything dry to supposedly get a better product then you trow it in bins and vacuum seal it doesnt vacuum seeling it damage the buds?

i think the longer cures and drying times really do work best for sativa and sativa dom strains. most of the strains we are working with are hybrids of an indica dom nature. soem strains u can just trimm wet hang for 5-6 days and then start selling it. the smell is there and its not at full power but its strong enough right off the bat. the sativas seem to need mroe finese to bring out the best. the g13/haze i run is a 49 day strain and is no differnt no mater how u do it really, just gets a bit stronger after about 5-6 days after its dry and u really get to coughing. if u dont let them dry enough before u start to bag or jar it you will get that hay smell though with some strains if they sweat alot in the jars or bags.

As the plant gets gutted, everything goes in the hopper that leads to the twister. Dry for 4-6 days on drying racks, then to turkey bags as they get burped, if any need to come back out on the racks, they do. From that point to the food sealer and to the distributors!

I like wet clip under 45min from standing. It hold its shape better for me to trim cleaner. Other wise it wilts then just takes longer. Dry is to messy for me. Then again its just my thoughts on wet vs dry

I too have dine it both ways and hands down dry trim is better.
better looking, smelling and tasting.

it does take longer tho. but IMO "it's worth it"


another good way us to hang the whole plant for a week or so then just cut all the nugs off and spread on a screen for a few more days. then trim it all up.

I have found there is definitely a point at which the buds are far too dry to be properly trimmed, and you risk losing a lot of good bud if they're too dry.

Sure vacuum sealing can damage the buds if you're rough about it, if you extract all the air and stack them, treat the finished packages roughly. But if you're careful about it, don't extract all the air, be careful about how you store the packages, it causes little appreciable damage. I don't end up with a bunch of shake or kief stuck to the bags, if that's what you're getting at. I end up with trim from trimming, not shake.

How do you know how dry I let the buds get beforehand? Do you distinguish between drying and curing? I do.

pretty much every club ive delt with vaccum seals.... def will help keep the stuff a lil fresher if its guna sit for a min. if your place sells concentrates theres a good chance you stuff has been keefed already anyway so not much more for the bag to hurt
also have seen a couple places using black and green vaccum sealing bags, seems like a good way to keep the light out, but make sure you label cuz you cant see whats inside
also ive hung everywhere from 3 to 14 days
my preferance is to trim about 24 hours after the tips of the leaves get cripsy
kinda noticed my stuff stinks more the closer i get to 7-10 days of hanging, im real heavy on my sweetners and i think it just makes the taste from them come out better with a lil faster dry

I trim the large fans and let it dry in the closet for 10 days or until I get some nice snapping action on the branches. Your plant doesn't die immediately after cutting and letting it hang with the leaves still on will help the buds to suck out the remaining energy and sugars. If you don't have time, you don't have time. But if you do it is worth it and you'll be happier with the end product. Then continue with whatever curing method you use from there.

i have always done it wet. it is less of a task. my trichomes seem unaffected by this. but i have heard some of my friends say doing it dry has its advantages, not enough for me though

In used my trompro rotor and it smells like tons of chorapyll are you sure this smell will cure out cause it smells like hay?

I tried it both ways. I found wet trimming faster and more efficient. When they were dry I had to monkey around to see what the hell I was clipping...and it was a lot of extar handling too..which reduces trichromes. Plus I am one of this guys that likes to get the job done right away instead of putting it off for later. I chopped them, trimmed them and hung them to dry. They are about ready to go into paper bags for a bit then into glass jars with daily burps. BURP!!

I've never trimmed dry..

I slow dry and cure and I've never had end product that smelled like hay.
