Hey dankz was reading another thread and i believe it was ograskal himself that said he likes to water the last two weeks with refrigerated water to bring out the purple coloring in his urkle. just a thought i wanted to pass on. Also how hard was the querkle to clone?

Hi Dirty,
The only thing cold water is likely to do is cause shock on your plants so no that is not a good idea. Querkle supposedly will turn colors even with temps around 70-72 at night so root chilling techniques would be sort of lost here anyway. ( small distilled water ice cubes just a few minutes before lights out on the soil work best supposedly) For me it was fairly easy to clone but from my understanding a lot of guys find it pretty easy to mess up.

Time for our weekly update. Here we are already at day 42. The girls are starting to color fade and the buds are taking on a very nice shade of lavender.
I did give them some molasses and a tiny bit of bloom food at around 39 days that will be the last they get unless they need a bit more sugars in a few days. I will be taking a test cut on the fastest girl some time this week. Temps are still steady. Have been struggling to keep RH above 40% this week.
Well enough talk on to the pictures

Thanks Invictus I think they are looking pretty sexy myself. I wish they were bigger but that is my fault from flipping them without quite enough veg time.

Hey SIR,
I got those little scrogger screens at Meijer for like a buck each. They work awesome as a trellis to open my plants up for better light penetration They would work even better for taller plants with minimal LST to go with them. Harvest time coming soon. I am going to take one of the small lower branches later tonight or tomorrow to get a feel for were the girls are at in the grow cycle.

Looking great bro looks like you will be harvesting some dank budz...glad to hear they are coloring up for yah....looking forward to seeing the finished budz!

Thanks for stopping by Bro. They need more color hoping it keeps coming. I only wish they were finished already.

Super Soil

I have learned in life if you want to be successful at something you either have to think it up yourself or copy what has created success for others. That being said I have been thinking about what these plants have done over the life so far and I have put time into discovering all I can about Subcools methods of growing. I am going to take a page from his play book for the next round of Querkle. Tonight I spent a couple hours mixing a super soil mix. For those who do not know super soil is intended to provide all the nutrients for the entire life cycle of the plants. We do this by adding organic fertilizers to increase the nutrient content available to the micro organisms living in the dirt there by increasing what is available to the plants when and as they need or want it. I picked up most of this stuff at either my local grow store Meijer ( walmart if you live some were ruled by there evil empire of darkness) or Home Depot store in my area.

I used a base the same as Subcool I used Roots Organic potting mix.
3 big bags of Roots Organic Potting mix
3 pounds of Bone meal
3 pounds of Blood meal
2.2 pounds of Bat Guano Bloom Formula
15 pounds of Earth Worm Castings
6 table spoons of Epson Salts
7 table spoons of Sweet Dolomite lime
7 table spoons of Azomite trace minerals
2 table spoons of Humic Acid
1 table spoon of Oregonism from Roots Organic line of products.
3 gallons of distilled H2O

Note: Sweet Lime, Azomite, Epson Salts and Humic Acid are disolved in the water and then watered evenly thru the soil.

To get started I pack up the trusty bowl of some of the one last bud before the jar goes empty (common harvest day:sweating).

I break all the big stuff into 3 semi even pours into a plastic wading pool. I stir it up really good using a shovel in between adding a 3rd of each of the bulk items and one of the 3 gallons of water with the dissolved solids in it for about 10 min for each layer. Then I stirred the whole batch for about 15 min took a break smoked a bowl and stirred for another 20 min or so. I split the mix into 2 new clean 33 gallon trash cans with lids on,(this mix fills the cans about 2/3 full) and will park it out in the back yard were its semi sunny for the next 30 ish or so days. I intend to use this in bottom 40-50% of my 7 gallon pots with the top being regular roots organic mix.
We will see how this does in future grows. I am really hoping this mix will help grow nicer plants with no need to mix nutrients every couple of days. I have seen many examples of beautiful cannabis grown using a super soil mix and I have noticed quite of few big name breeders use this concept.

My Querkle is straight couch lock for sure.. Great for pain.. one of my favorites. White Querkles comming up boyz! Can't wait to get my white s1's. Wish i had The White clone only though :*( ~dubz

Just a quick update. Day 45 just after sleepy time for the girls. They are yellowing a bit more than I would have really liked with still about 11-14 days left or so. However there isnt much I intend to do about it at this point I am learning and comming to understand this strain. Next round they will be provided with a much longer feeding program in the Super Soil provided its ready otherwise it will be a longer bottle feeding program for sure. I also think they have been a little Cal/mag short for about the last 2 weeks but I couldnt find the right way to get it into them I am thinking Epsom Salts next time. The palm sized club shown behind my hand is one of about 20 of them just like it on the bigger plant. The last Cola pictured today is an example of the 15 or so I have just like it on the between the two smaller plants they are about as long as my arm from wrist to elbow.

Hi DonnyBrook,

Thanks for stopping by brother. Good luck with your querkle cut I have really enjoyed this strain and I will be looking forward to trying them again with a better plan now knowing how they feed. I am glad if anything I have learned has helped in your future grow.

Doc-
Looking good my friend! :banana1sv6:

Looking good. My Querkles are looking about the same, i think we have a grow off! so close. Mine are about as yellow as yours and are hard to keep green up till harvest. only had one run where it was really green at harvest, still wasn't my best finished product though. Can't wait for you to smoke it and get that dank smell threwout your room.. I love it. ~dubz

Hi Dubz
You should get some photos of yours up some were at the farm. From what I understand from watching them grow they would like a lot more late N then I would give them in a nutrient program hence the super soil for the next round. I hoped to see a lot more purple from these but with as much as I seem to have starved them I am not shocked I haven't.

I am looking forward to find out what they smoke like but it will be awhile before we discover any of those details
