Day 26 of 12/12

This is yesterdays update.
So I ran into my first obstacle. The last couple days my plants have been having some leaves under the canopy yellowing a bit and some with rust, and then they become very brittle and easily are pulled off. At first I thought this was just the lower leaves not getting light below the canopy. Then I started to see a few leaves around some of my colas yellowing a bit. That's when I took this more seriously.

So my conclusion last night was that I am experiencing a Magnesium Deficiency. I did some reading and seems a lot of people that use the Nute line that I am often add Cal/Mag because the nutes don't have quite enough. Alright so went and picked up some Cal/Mag. Then I had another idea. Recently the water lines in my area have been changed. I never really check PH because water coming out of a Brita filter for me has always been pretty much 7.0 PH, then I add my nutes and that puts me right about where I want to be.

So I start thinking maybe since the water lines were changed that I am getting a different default PH.......Bingo. Just checked it a few minutes ago and looks like the PH of the water coming out of my Brita filter is now closer to 6 then 7.

So I have now adjusted accordingly and added some Cal/Mag to my PH'd water just for good measure. We shall see if that solves my problems, I am glad I caught it pretty quick.

I am not going to bother with snapping pics tonight as I am a little sad about my minor issue. I will update tomorrow on the status of the ladies and leave you guys with yesterdays pics.

Day 28 of 12/12

Well today the leaves did not seem to improve much, actually a bit worse. So I did something I should have done a long time ago. I checked the PH of my run-off water.

Looks like this is where the problem truly is. I remembered that on my last grow right before flower I gave my plants a real nice flush just to give them more or less a clean slate before they received the Flower nutrients. I didn't really do that this time and in that I believe lies my biggest mistake.

When I checked the Run-off PH it was around 5.0, maybe even lower. So I spent a few hours flushing the shit out of my plants. I must have put 12G of water through each plant. I used my shopvac to suck out all the run-off and then put another 2L through them and measure the PH of the run-off again. I did this until my run-off PH was somewhere between 6.5 and 6.

I have a feeling that should solve my issue as the PH of the medium being so low would certainly be very detrimental to my plants. Now with doing such a hardcore flush I hope my plants aren't starving these next few days as I observe to see if there is a positive change before I feed them again.

I only currently have the Solution for checking PH but after this ordeal I can't wait to get myself a Tri-Meter.

Anyway here is today's Pics and a shot of my next generation.

Yeah they are usually the Purple hue, I just turn off the Red half for taking pics, the red really makes the pics bleed.

Day 29 of 12/12

Well today my plants seem to have recovered some of their vigour. While inspecting the lower sections I did not find much for dying leaves in contrast to the past few days when there were plenty every time I checked so I must be heading back to a healthy environment for my girls.

They all see to continue to Flower nicely with colas increasing in size each day. I believe my panic attack is over for now. :)

I also got to re-potting my next generation today.

All seems well again!

Day 32 of 12/12

This is yesterday's Update. Not much to say except that everything is looking great. Even if you look at the underside of the plants they are more or less totally healthy again. Back to cruise control. :)

That looks great, deff putting up scrog on the ladies I just put into 12/12 sund. I've been so busy with everythings that's going on there's not enough time in a day. But looking at how uniform your tent is I have to do it. I guess its much harder when your running 3 strains like I am.

Thanks K11NG! Yeah for sure you are best to have a single strain per SCROG, it is looking perty ain't it?

You should just run several SCROGs, one for each strain. It is nice to be able to look after fewer plants for similar or better yield.

Well gave the ladies their first feeding since the big flush so we will see how they react back on the juice. They are growing nicely everyday. Look at the F'n frostiness!
