hey dude,
soaking isn't complicated, so since you have not had good results i'd suggest this when soaking seeds to germ.
1st. use only bottled water deerpark/nestle's works fine. get 2 bottles for each batch of seeds you want to germ.
place the seeds in a fresh bottle of water (then put them in the dark), the fresher the seeds the quicker the water will act on them. Yet, with older seed that should be viable this methods works just fine too.
keep the water temps around 75 just like u would the plants air temps. they will germ faster at slightly higher temps, but u also risk them more imho.
new seeds should show a sprout/white tip in 1-3 days. use tweezers and place them into
promix bx, rapid rooters/sponge pots, or any soil that is inert with no nute charge in it.
after making a slight depression in the medium no deeper then 1/2inch;
cover them up lightly with said medium. water with no more then 2 oz of water if using
promix bx/soil; for rapid rooter type plugs just keep them moist ONLY.
ALTERNATE WAY IS TO PLACE SEEDS IN PAPER TOWELS after they have shown tips in the water. allow seedlings to grow abit in the paper towels,then place in medium. Do Not Touch them with your HAND, USE TWEEZERS!!!
use REGULAR FLOURESCENTS AT LEAST 1/2 weeks then go too, cfl's, t5's, mh, after that . use HPS on strains that don't like to veg well like SENSI STAR, to help them stretch.
all very basic, but works over and over again.
Note: DON'T FORGET to change out your water bottles every 2-3 days until sprout show if u want to germ them soley in ther water bottles.
Note: i saw a cable show that spoke about how much waste and negative impact costs our plante and us when we use single use plastic containers. yup, the kind that are used for water bottles!
so try to use a decent water filter and not even buy those bottles. if u think u must, at least buy the larger containers that save u money
