I recently had the same problem. Got ahead of myself and set everything up, only to realize I was eventually going to run into a LOT of issues with just carpet under my pots. Had to pull almost everything out of the room (24 4-gal pots and the mother), and run a 6mil sheet of plastic across the floor. Then set it all back up again!! I'll tell you what, next time I'm setting up this flo-n-gro, it'll be a breeze!! Lol

Careful careful, I did the same thing the first time and after awhile a small tear started in my poly and sure enough water was leaking to the underside of my poly. Same thing happened to me with a tarp.

I'm not super strong and pond liners kick my ass tryin to move em.
But I really have had good luck with the laminate floor so far, and its really cheap!

Not saying anything is wrong just my 2 cents.

Bugs love carpet and I hate bugs!!

I should have educated myself a little more before I purchased my setup. I bought gallon bottles of notes for a personal 4x4 setup. Needless to say, it will take me decades to go through them.

Do organic bottled nutes go bad? (Pura Vida, Hygrozyme, some GO stuff)

I built an RDWC setup with 24 sites... the sites are so close together I'm running only 12 of them, checkerboard style...

On the bright side, as soon as I have a little extra room I already have most of the setup I'll need to put in it!

i have to agree with Cannabeans. I caused more headaches and wasted more time on money on air cool hoods. Could been up and running a long time ago had I spent the money on a large AC unit and saved a ton of money too.

Pulling cold air from outside through my air cooled hoods. It’s causing WAY to much condensation to build up on the hoods and dripping on my plants...

Ditching the air cooled hoods and getting a second AC is not sounding like such a bad idea now when all the cons are listed out like Cannabeans did.

Actually with every round there is a little something I learn and build on for next time. It's a passion and a hobby so I love to tweak and experiment.

This round I'll be adding more light, more air, and C02. For my very small space, I love my air cooled hood.

I would have put 6 or 8 inch exhaust tubing going out instead of 4 inch. Now it's buried in the ceiling and I'm stuck with it.......

I wish I would have not gone with the UC... Don't get me wrong it's kinda cool but for me it's way too much work. I also wish I wouldn't have gone with 3 different strains... The UC eats up most of my room and my electric bill is $1300 with all the equipment. Next run UC is out....

Wow,,,, 1300 a month. In hot months I'm at about 700 and I thought that was expensive.

Properly run, your UC will let you afford a bigger place to run it. Also, the UC itself uses very, very little power; just a pump. that's it. You'll want a chiller for any RDWC setup, so that's not the UC's fault.

You'll need lights for anything you run, UC or not. I didn't get a UC because I'm not a big fan of uniseals and cracking around them, so I built my own. When it's working right, I get crazy yields! When it isn't working right, I know better than to blame the equipment; it's that crazy bastard in the mirror I'm pissed at, lol

your right I should have said any RDWC... I could save with not having a chiller all the air pumps and it's not much but my water bill shot up as well. I love the UC but I'm not experienced enough to use it. I have a grow log you can see my setup. If I had all Skywalker I would be a very happy camper. I know it's my fault not the system but I'm in this about 25k and that is for sure my doing.

Your water bill shouldn't notice an RDWC- filling one is only the same amount of water you use taking a shower.

I feel you about the investment and the frustration- if anyone could do it, no one would pay for the product. Keep at it and you'll get it-

thanks man I appreciate the encouragement!!! I'm in my 3rd week of flower and it's hard with the 3 different strains to adjust for any deficiencies.

LOL- oh, shit... I have 17 strains I'm juggling! Which is, of course, too damn many. I'm trying to narrow down to the ones I want to keep because they agree with my growing style- and of course, what I want to smoke for my own head...

First, pull your air through the hoods instead of pushing it- things will run a lot cooler, I promise.

Second, don't run chilled air- from any source- through your hoods as this will cause the bulbs to run cooler than their design temperature, which leads to reduced lumen output and an altered spectrum output, both of which aren't helpful.

The air you want to be temperature controlled is the air in the room, not in your hoods.
