6 months seems to be the going knowledge on hoe long properly stred pollen will be VIABLE for, thats not to say the very next day one tosses it out..

for the most part ppl use the pollen ASAP but at times there are left-overs and thats what gets stored, well for me thats how it works..

i think the biggest MISTAKE ppl make is the do not let there pollen dry before trying to store it, this is seen when you remove your pollen from what ever container one has it in and its CLUMPY that was pollen stored while still moist.....its pretty much useless after that and needs to be pitched...

i always give my pollen atleast a couple hours to dry and this is done by simple places your pollen on a SHEET of WAX papper then placed in a dark place with as little air flow as possible, you dont need air to dry the pollen just leave it setting out will do the job nothing else is needed...

after that place in a container i like the HARD plastic containers with lids, after this place in a TUPPER-WARE bowl/tub and lastly I place that into a brown papper bag like the kind your mother use to put your school lunch in and then just place into the frig.....

i heard of ppl frezzzzzing it but ive never tried that ive never had the use for such long storeage..

P.S. some ppl mix there pollen with flour to stretch it out but i find a well grown male gives plenty of pollen and there no need to mix it with anything ever, pollen dont get mixed in nature so i dont mess with it at all EVER..

About how many plants are you able to pollinate with the pollen from those branches?
When STSing a clone do you get less pollen than you would from a true male?

I am going to dust 8-10 girls and want to make sure I have enough pollen to get the job done.

thank you much for the very kind words..

if i wanted i could 5-6 plants with the amount of pollen im getting from this DOJO, was you really get into the breeding part of what were all doing here you will relize it dont take mush pollen at all to to tons of seeds....but you must keep in mind there is such a thing as over pollenation what this will do for you is give you an over wanted number of inmature seeds...

the size of the plant your targetting and at what stage you pollenate her also plays a roll, on this DOJO im working i want as many VIABLE SEED as i can get from this one plant so my plan is to do a double pollenation on her...i did hit her this morning and she is at 20 days and her budlets are about the size of my pinky nail and the seeds from this first pollenation with end the end be the ones closest to the center of the buds and will be the ones that you will have to work a bit to get to......in about 10 days after the buds have had a chance to ajust a grow a bit i'll het her a second time this time it will be for the purpose of getting the most seeds possible from the single plant...

most plants i NO NOT do this to just the ones im really wanting MAX SEEDS FROM, now i know what your thinking whats the diference in the single heavy pollenation compared to a double pollenation umm im no expert but from what ive learned over the years ive boon doing this is if i HIT my girls hard one time i usualy always get far far more UNVIABLE seeds at harvest time aposed to the double pollenation which i seem to get high 90% on all seeds gathered.....my best guess would be at such a young age 20-24 days into flower the plants and or bud sites are just to small to hadle a heavy handed pollenation, the plant sends so much time trying to produce seeds and its just unable to spread whats needed to get healthy seed through out its mass......

as far as the STS i cant really speak to that i have not done that process yet I DO have my supplies to get this done but have not decided waht to FEM first i thought about doing the GSC but it seems that ones being BASTARDED as we speak by many so im thinking i should pick something else..

if your planing to do 8-10 all with the same POLLEN then your best bet would be just a STRAIGHT UP OPEN POLLENATION just get your REVERSED plant ready to roll place him in an ISOLATED ROOM with the girls you want him to pollenate turn the fan give the over-night to get the job done.....the next morning open the area up pull-n-kill tha male off genrously spray down the females let them dry spray them again let them dry then get them back under what ever light yo were going to contine to flower them under......it should not take more then three-4 days to see the results, browning shrivling hairs is what your going want to seeds and shortly there after you will begin to notice SWOLLEN PODS on your girls and wham bam your seeing the first signs of som brand new FEM seeds..

About the pollen, I freeze mine. Paper envelope inside a ziplock with a desiccant, for moisture. Used pollen 2 years old with good success. Nowhere near as good as fresh. But it works.

Jaws. The DPD yo0u have there looks really nice. And Chem Soda?! hell yeah. and the package writes "Insane Straw D Jaws gear." I will get a pict for ya if need be. Keep it up bud. looks great

I do want max seeds. My plan is to try out doing an open pollination, all with the same pollen and put em into 12/12 all at the same time. Thanks JAWS, really appreciate all the detailed information!!

ya brother ppl do keep pollen for longer times but for most its a one in done type thing, if i ever decide to try a DEEP FREZZ i'll most deffinatly go with your info....ok so im not sure if your asking me a Question about my INSANE STRAWBERRY DIESEL or if your answering a Question i had for you on that strain??...

you are aware that you need to start work on the TARGETED reverse female like two weeks before you take the batch into 12/12 RIGHT?....

you CAN NOT start the reversing part of project at the same time you put the females to bloom, like i said im no expert but i have the STS to do my own FEM so i did do some reading and i was put very clear that you need to get the reversing prier so that you have a full on reversed male to work with at the right time...

if you start the process at the same time by the time the male is ready the females will be to deep into 12/12 for your seeds to mature......i think this aspect of the REVERSING process is going to be a hands on learning process and it will take a time or two before you get a good grip on haw and when things need to be triggered...

also when working with HEAVYER SATS i think seeing that they have such a long flowering phaze you could possible get away with starting your REVERSING of the male at the same time you put your FEMALES to flower, i know it makes NO DIFFERENCE between making seeds with INDY/SAT the seeds still take the same amount of time to MATURE about 6 weeks..

this strain ive wanted ever sense i first heard about it awhile back, im not sure what to expect from her but im pretty damn excited to have her in-house....cuts will be taken as soon as she is big enought to do so...

sadly the MALE CHEM SODA i had went herni on me so i wont be making any BLACK CHERRY SODA BX verry sorry to my peeps who were salavating over the thought of that one, i tried..

this plant is finaly looking like shes ready to be my friend its been a tough path with this one,ive had a hell of a time getting it to root and the two snips i took last week are still not showing any roots but they still look very healthy so im hopefull they will root soon...

CHERRY PIE DURBAN PHENO

this girl had a rough start aswell but shes much more stable and responds far better and faster then her cousin the GSC, this one i have taken a cut from on the same day i took GSC cuts and this morning the CHERRY PIE has roots and is moving right along...over the next three weeks i will be taking mutiple snips from the PIE i must have her in plenty for the next run..

now any body who has known me for and amount of time knows when they see plants with TWISTY TIES on there branches then that branch has been pollenated, and indeed this is the smaller of the TWO SD IBL i have gonig in the flower room and she was hit with pollen from the PURPLE DPD IX1...

SOUR DOJO is indeed being made as you read this post...

the other one is about TWICE the size of this one and she is also the one ive taken 6 cuts from so far.

CHEM SODA FEMALE FIRST LOOK!!

sorry about the first pic its off in color just a bit must have been to close with the flash on...

BROTHER WESTCOAST547 was the one who made this one and i fully intended to make F-GEN with her but her males counterpart hermied on me so thats out...

as you can see there are TWISTY TIES on a couple branches so this plant has been dusted just a bit, the polen used was the DPD IX1 MALE and the main reason i did this one was because i know this one will put out some purple so why not hit her with pollen from a purple male....

there have been NO cuts of this one taken umm not sure if i will but i have 5 ROOT RIOTS soaking for tomarrow so i may snatch 1 just because..

BANANA KUSH F8

so this plant im still not totaly clear about there are far to many stories going around to know for sure what the GENETICS are with this one..

all i do know for-sure is that this one DOES NOT look anything like the mother i used to make this F8 BATCH of BANANA KUSH which leads me to one answer this time the females are clearly taking after the father WHAT/WHO ever he may be...this one was hit with the PURPLE DOJO MALE so were going to get some BANANA DOJO and with some luck we should see some PURPLE BANANA DOJO from some of the seeds...

now i have another FEMALE BANANA KUSH thats going to be totaly used for making F-9 BANANA KUSH seeds and i have two males to chose from but seeing that both of these FEMALES are of the taller more stretched version i think im goint to go with the slimmer MALE over the short fat fuck..

last round i went with the short stocky mom and a more open father, but in the ORIGINAL F-7 i started working with that gave me the short stocky FEMALE it also brought very THICK buds that were/are prone to mold/bud rot soooo im going to try and get the F-9 GEN away from that side of things...if ppl like those shorter tighter noded BANANA KUSH there going to have to find the seeds else where unless they have some of the BANANA KUSH F-8 i released awhile back, but i doubt thats going to happen only 3-4 ppl got any of those..
