I made a tea the other day with the roots pack & foliar pack, ewc, alfalfa meal,green hay, brown hay, bud candy, humic, kelp. I gave my plants a top root drench diluted 1 gallon of tea to 5 gallons of RO water will this kill my RA's?
Do you think I should brew another tea with just the foliar pack ewc, alfalfa meal,green hay, brown hay, bud candy, humic, kelp and feed a top root drench?

Does the foliar pack have to be a ACT. Or can I just mix it with RO water and do a root drench?

You can just mix it with water if you like and do a root drench.

any thoughts from anyone about the use of Snowstorm in conjuction with compost teas?. I am thinking about that since I have read on more than one occasion, including the bottle, that it will promote bacterial growth in reservoirs.. So i was wonderng if anyone has seen if it will maybe have positive effects on microbial growth in teas.

if you don't mind what does bud candy do for compost tea?

I hope i am not sounding sarcastic, cause I really am interested.

I used Advanced for one run and even with not the best of roots at all, I still got a pretty freaking good yield. I DO NOT want to start an Advanced hate going here, but I have heard/read from a few places that the Bud Candy, B-52, Bud Factor X (from a few people that think is has Chitosan), and Overdrive were pretty good products when used as part of the basic AN schedule. So, just curious.

powdered molasses and sucanat are another solution that I suggested when you were propping ej's high brix molasses earlier. why bother dealing w/ a hyped up, over-priced product that's manufactured by a company that doesn't support sustainable agriculture w/ their product lines. Serious organic growers who have been at it for awhile are going to tell you that Bud Candy is a joke. But you're free to buy it. It's your program.

Is that directed at me? I was just seriously wondering why someone would use bud candy in a tea. Seriously. I was not going to slam someone for their product choices. If that was not directed at me, sorry, I will get back to my book I was reading. "How to design fancy labels to sell shit"...it's a very good book.

Sprayed last night and the leaves have a lot of chalky white residue this morning. I assume the carrier. Will that cause a problem? Added a tbl of the folliar pk to a gallon and let sit for a day then sprayed. Did I do something wrong

I've been using the products for over a year and have never seen "a lot of chalky white residue" from foliar. Did you skim off the surface residue per Cap's instructions?, I believe ithat''s been covered a number of times in these threads. That should take care of your application probs. In truth, I don't skim and don't get the excessive residue you describe. Strange. Got a photo?

is there really a point to re applying and re applying. Once things are rolling aren't you good?

Seems a lot of people are hitting them every week!?

Cap has had a lot of feedback from growers and may have an answer that's better than mine, but I apply the foliar once during mid-veg and use it as a drench one time during early-mid flower as a preventative measure. I apply the nute and root packs at the outset and once again when I transplant into the containers that they will be flowering in and that's it. I rotate pre-used soil into my fresh mixes and know that I'm getting some latent microbial /"spore" value from the old mixes, as well.

I use the foliar. First time i didn't let it set long enough and had that chalky residue with absolutely no ill effects. I know my leaves do not need any other kind of care now besides the way I apply the Foliar now....which is this....I kind of pre-charge mine by bubbling one gallon of water in a two gallon bucket, I add in a slight bit of Floraliscious (very slight) and a tad bit of Molasses or EJ Hibrix, wait for water to adjust (RO water) and then add in correct amount of Foliar pack and continue to bubble for about one hour then I mix with some decanted compost tea and apply. I also take them out from under flourescents (just to the side) for about 8 hours to let the UV sensitive (if there are any, just for being safe) microbes a chance to work in, work on, dance around, do the Hokey Pokey and shit...

I don't know about sitting for a day, i would really worry about it becoming anaerobic if you were not bubbling of constantly stirring. In Foliar bennies, for instance one the BTi....I know that in a lab if they were waking those up you would need to make sure that, IF you are letting them sit for a whole day that you bubble them (or whatever) to keep it from going anaerobic. Maybe even stirring, since that is one way they also do it in labs, but even then it's constant, with automatic stirrers and shakers, but not without keeping it aerobic. I am not sure, just my opinion....

BUT that would still have nothing to do with the chalky residue. Not like the time I had it, I first of all did not mix it well, making sure all the chunks unchunked, and then I also did not let it settle. I used all of it and some plants, that i hit first, did not have as bad a residue and the ones i hit with the bottom scrapins'.....

This is why i came upon the idea of doing like they do in some lab techniques and I mix it then bubble to mix it more and to precharge the little farts. I think it helps, it for sure is not hurting.

If you add extra stuff to your tea do it one thing at a time. I put some enzyme crap that I got for free in a batch of tea and that addition made some kind of slimy jelly. I just dumped the whole batch in my garden. I use worm castings, aloe juice, alfalfa juice, kelp, and whatever sugar syrup is handy. I have put my roots powder in water and sprayed outdoor plants with that. It drips into the dirt or media just fine. If you spray just as it gets dark you can hear them "You put your right foot in..."
You have to bubble. Or vortex. Disambiguator is right. You will be wasting if you don't. If the choice is mixing the stuff with water and spraying it on or not using, I would use.

Yes. It keeps the various herd populations in balance. I am multi-media these days. I use roots and 1/4 strength chem nutes in my bubble buckets. 1g/week. I swap out fresh buckets every 2 weeks. With the roots I can tolerate higher bucket temps without rot. I spray a lot and my plants are looking better than I have ever seen them and I have had PM in the past.

yeah I don't think on leaves they can maintain a population indefinitely... When they do foliage applications (compost tea, not bud candy ;p) on farms they do it multiple times to maintain an overbalance of the good over the potentially pathogenic microbes (love it when i can use Pathogenic in a sentence) .... I am pretty sure I read that in that book from Elaine Ingham. If i wasn't so lazy i just go ahead and Plagiarize her, but wth. I don't know what others think but I think she has her crap together. Lot of people respect her opinion about the "Soil Food Web" and compost teas. I just keep in mind when reading her stuff that I need to adjust for what we do when making a tea with bennies. We are stacking the deck in our favor. As long as you keep it aerobic and use microbes in the numbers that Caps contains, it is hard to fail at tea making. In my opinion. That and a buck fifty will get you...never mind. Just my opinion.
