Ttystikk, I've been receiving personal calls from the undersheriff as well as the detectives on the case, believe you me they are ON IT, 100%. No local television stations for me, frankly I don't want notoriety, definitely do not want my face on tv and I have no desire to become better known in this small county, not for something like this. In fact, I was VERY relieved to see that the story published in the local paper was only on their online page for a couple of days, now it's buried. You see, this is just not MMJ-friendly grounds, it just isn't, and when my husband and I (pinegrovedave up there) went public with battling the county supervisors, we were not exactly popular with everyone, if you get my drift.

I figured, roughly, that the items stolen were worth around $10K, give or take. But that was without knowing gold prices, and like I said above apparently amethysts (my birth stone) have gone up in price as well.

Holy shit that was like 100 grand in gold they stole? I'm just estimating but it sounds like it. Damn, that is really really messed up. I'm terribly sorry for what happened to you Sea it's just no good all around. At least they didn't get your entire crop did they? Not having any buds to smoke at this time would just be unforgiveable. Really glad you made it through relatively alright and alive, for sure.

Yes, they got pretty much the entire crop. Left a couple of branches on the ground to go moldy. But I won't be out of smoke, I have a wealth of friends who'll keep me in smoke, thank goodness. I also have a good bit leftover from last year's crop, for which I am also quite thankful but confused, because it amounts to maybe a third again of the amount that was taken (all guessing here, I'm a lazy grower who doesn't bother with trimming until I have to).

I can't imagine that the gold was worth that much, it would make me cry if it was. Cry, while kicking myself in the ass for not making sure it was all better insured.

Ive never really chatted with you, or Dave for that matter, but have read MANY of your posts and have always thought you seem like a very fun, caring, compassionate, and extremely intelligent woman, i now have the belief that Dave is a man of the same caliber, im happy you have eachother. I for one am extremely relieved to know that at least you are both alive and can/will recover. A home invasion on a lone female many times goes much MUCH worse, so you are actually lucky that theyre motivation was just your crop and money, not something else. Im proud of you both for handling this the way you are and i truly hope this gets resolved soon. PG, it's possible, likely in fact, that it was someone I know. I'm feeling much better physically, just gotta go through the emotional stuff. No guns for me, we're going to go better home security (it looks like I might qualify for a program run by the state for victims of violence, they may help us cover cost of improving the security of entry points), surveillance and beyond what is humanly possible, into what is caninely possible. I take the kind of dog I'm considering very seriously, though, and so will not just be jumping into it. It is easily as much responsibility as a gun, perhaps moreso.

I'm sure those outfits that offer to buy your gold & jewelry don't ask a thing about where it may have come from.

I don't know how it is in your locality, but in Illinois all such shops are required to enter what they take in into an online database--and they cannot do anything to it for a period of two weeks.

This system goes across state lines even (I believe for us its Il, WI, and IN).

I was able to not only get back my 50K violin which was stolen from me, but was able to find the person who stole it and see that he found his way into a jail cell.

Wow, really? I sincerely hope it's like that in California, too, then. I guess next time I speak with the investigating detective I'll have to ask, because I had many unique pieces, including an ID bracelet of a very high gold content (24K) with my name inscribed on it. The clasp is a type that's no longer made, too.

We've heard that the DoJ is involved now.

As for the asshole that hit me, I've been hoping he becomes Bubba's girlfriend while he's on his staycation. Maybe Bubba will 'slap' him around a little bit, for good measure. I've been calling the guy names in my head, mostly shit-stick.

Do not rely on dogs for safety unless you are an experienced trainer.

I will say something here that is likely to get me scoffed at, but I feel it might help someone so here goes:

In my younger years--I used to pop off drug houses. Mostly this was not weed--and I NEVER used violence, so let's make that clear from jump.

I worked for a long time with a dog trainer leading up to this, and realized that most of the houses I knew of relied on dogs to keep their stash safe. If you know what you're doing and if the dog isn't absolutely brutal (which usually means it's been beaten every day of its life)--you can either:

1. Get that dog to lick you

or, at least

2. Keep it from biting you. (even if it barks vigorously).

If the dog knows you already (i.e. you're being robbed by an acquaintance) its even easier.


As for a second good reason not to do this--you will fall in love with your pet. You will want to protect it, not vice versa.

Hopefully no one hates me now--this was many many many years ago in my past and I am a totally changed person (I was coke head at this time).

I dont know the details of what happened but I wanted to give a suggestion based on what I have learned over the years (many a crop been robbed of and what your going through has always been my biggest fear) I have learned that there are what I call opportunistic thieves. These are the thieves that take the opportunity of a situation such as a fall out with a friend to their advantage and strike when it is going to be automatically assumed to be the friend that you recently had a fall out with. I dont know if this is the case here but I thought I would mention it just so you think about the possibility and dont rule out any possible suspects just because you are focused on a suspect. Also I am in El Dorado county and have ears in Sacramento area both on the good side and not so good sides of the law. I will keep my ears open for you and see if anyones boosters have any nice jewelry. Cant hurt to ask. Im not one throw anybody under the bus but if I could return a sentimental piece of jewelry by picking it up for far less than its worth from someone to return it to its rightful owner I wouldnt mind doing that for ya especially since you are the one that helped me understand that there was such a thing as the root aphid which were feeding on my roots. When did this happen if you dont mind me asking and what strain was taken?

Thank you, much appreciated. There was one very unique piece with a name inscribed on it, very old, scratched up ID bracelet. High gold content and it can't be opened or closed (one of the times I lost it was in a horse corral, found it YEARS later, had been stepped on and such). Another piece was a very unique, very large, very dark amethyst. The setting is modern and looks like it could be Italian. I had a lot of 18K, and several 24K pieces, too. I love my gold bracelets (I'm half-Puerto Rican, ain't no such thang as over-golding it, as long as you never go cheap!).

No one but my husband and I knew about the falling out with this guy. Fortunately for us, certain evidence was left behind that may be these guys' undoing.

As for strains, I had a bunch of unnamed African landraces going. Whoever gets that stuff may get well and truly mind-fucked (I've got to say I was really looking forward to trying these girls!), and I'd rather not name some others because of what lines would be drawn, I don't want personal friends pulled in, if that makes some sense.

As for the root aphids, reading/hearing that sort of thing makes my heart glad. I really do gain a great deal of pleasure by seeing people succeed or resolve problems and if I can help them do that, even BETTER. Thank you. :)
