i don't think mine is 99%. i got it off amazon. i'll have to look at the purity/dosage.

nothing stays a secret long and there is nothing that a nutrient company puts in their solution that wasn't discovered somewhere else or has been around for awhile. hydro companies aren't innovators in any way... just profiteers.

honestly, i don't try to reproduce anything accurately other than Spurr's formula's. the only additives i use are some kelp and humic acid and i foliar every week with a 25ppm solution of Triacontanol. the only thing i'd consider trying would be Capit's bennies

but i grow in rockwool and don't want to run much more than that.

as a point of reference, it took me about 1.5 hrs to mix up 3 3gal concentrated solutions. (an A+B+C) the only reason it took that long is that i find heating up the water makes it easier to dissolve everything. that will give me about 7 40 gal reservoirs worth of nutrients at around a 1.7ec.

71, how are you liking spurrs forumla are you using the three recipe for veg, early flower and late flower.
and how bout the tria making any decent differences.

in california you gotta be careful when growing commercially even with scripts. triple beams, lots of zip loc's, etc, will give them cause

you don't need a scale with Triac as they usually give you a measuring cup and i make about a gallons worth at 25-50ppm

I only use a triple beam to weigh salts and bennies...

how much/when do you add tria?

I am really liking it. I was using Canna Aqua and I found that I got deficiencies much easier and quicker. Now, I don't worry about doing Cal/mag supplements and things are doing really well.

Since I've started growing, I've used Triacontanol in one form or another, so it is hard for me to know how much it helps. I do remember a buddy commenting that a strain i was growing that he was also, looked a lot different. For the price, I say why not use it?

Yeah, the cops in California aren't always especially honest and I've seen them try and make a case for a scale being used for distribution. Some house got busted somewhere in my area and the guy was just doing clones for people, yet in the paper the cops said he had enough plants for a street value of millions of dollars. regardless, in cali it is still an unsafe career

Are you referring to monkey?

i don't think so. this person was in the greater sacramento area i believe

Im using Jack's MOST for my micro and it clouds up my res when I add it...I add it after the A and B..Could the sulfates in there (me looking at iron sulfate) be binding to the calcium in the res and precipitating out? I had some pretty nasty white gunk at the bottom of my last batch...

Also thinking that if I premix the 5g (.1g/gal) of MOST in a gallon of water before adding to res it might solve the problem?

...worried i'm making gypsum in my tank...thanks folks

I dissolve and add the micros first, seems to help.

My Brain hurts trying to digest all of this.
Mucho cudos to you guys for all your hard work and efforts to share this with the rest of us.
I am sure I will have many ?'s to follow as I try to get off the proverbial "Bottle" and get on a "Mix-yer-own" program.
Thanks again gents for giving me a small brain hemorage and alot to ponder and digest over the next week!

Alrighty... manipulating what I can buy:

Jacks 5-12-26
CaNitrate 3.75- 0 - 0 (this was cut to 1/4 dosage)
Bonemeal 0- 5 - 0 (this was cut to 1/2 dosage)
organic fert 2- 5 - 2

10.75 - 22 - 28 NPK

(10x10.75) / .768= 139.97
(10x22) / .768= 286.45
(10x280) / .768= 364.58

139 - 286 - 364 NPK per 5ml or 5 grams

Which equals:

27.8 - 57.2 - 72.8 NPK per 1ml or 1g

Ratio: 1-2-2.6

Numbers come out on the basic 1-2-2.5 NPK for the whole run and I get this by a mixture of both organic and salts. lucas using maxibloom and that is it runs at 1-3-2.8 persectively and some of the runs with just maxi look great.

I have a thread but no one has chimed in and hope my math is right... .been a long time since I had to use it but this for me is the least expensive road.

I keep my scale with my salts, with salt residue on it. Any lawyer worth his salt can explain that away.
As for salts all the lists are the min. amount in the formula. Knowing what is exactly in a formula is not as important as knowing what are the levels in the plant when they are the healthiest. $40 bucks a pop for leaf samples, not too much, as knowing what to shoot for will give you more then say a 1/2 oz it would cost for 3 samples taken at veg, week 2 and week 6.

Hey JK is high P a bad thing for the full run? Some say it does not matter others say it is a bad thing. You have been growing for some time so I would value your opinion over those who sell the stuff...LOL

Yea I am only going to run about 1ml/gal for all my nutes and adjust from there. Total combined should be about 2.5 - 3ml/gal so it should be low ppm on the P.

1971 i put your numbers into hydrobuddy and get an error about the S. Gross errors on S are too high, probably an adaquate solution could not be found?

What Substances are you using?

I'm running plants in soil with GH MaxiGro 10-5-14 and GH liquid Koolbloom 0-10-10. I figured out the ppms with cannastats (thanks to Cap) with 5 grams/G of Maxi and 2 ml/G Koolbloom to be 132-57-206 NPK with Ca-Mg at 79-26. I know Ca and Mg seem low but I"m gonna get CaliMagic soon.

The reason I'm posting this info is because I think this is a decent formula based on what I see alot of pros doing on here and that is as close as I can get to a 3-1-4 formula with only MaxiGro and Koolbloom. Basically I wanna know if this would work good in soil because I know most people that run the 3-1-4 ratio are in rockwool or coco. So is anyone running a similar nute ratio in soil??
