You are one of the few people that really knows their shit about Cherry Pie. I could go down the rabit hole of discussion but I'll try and make a long story longer. So Im 42 I was blessed to grow in North FL from 2000-09 then got the call from the homies yo head out to Norcal so I did first 2 years I was a trimmer for several farms and got to experience the different cultivars grown at different spots on different diets which makes a good difference but when it's a clone only and the same one it shouldn't show that much variation overall. 2015 got my first chance to grow my own 99 and I scored Cherry Pie from one of the neighbors farm they said was not the knock off Cherry Lie aka the GDP x Pie This was superb shit I grew 99 and only had 2 Cherry Pies, sure enough the smoke stayed on the farm and was head stash hard to stop smoking. I'll never forget her I took some back for the holidays and my parents kicked me out their house before Xmas because it reeked their house out inside a Mason jar when I got in from the flight I hadn't even opened my bag and it reeked from the trunk to the entire car lol. I had them in 100gal smartpots they got pretty decent size but they were planted in May, although they were done in late Oct and had some dark purples but the earlier tops we pulled mid Oct were more greenish byt still purple. Anyways we lost it over the winter and didn't keep a cut we thought we'd get another from the homie but as we know shit happens and we didn't get her again so we searched for her ourselves and much to our surprise even being in Norcal by Mt Shasta and having ties in Southern Oregon we got 3 different so called Cherry Pies that none of them were what we grew that first time. I've been on a epic search for that one and here I am almost 10years later but guess what........I found her and I have her and I know it's her because I've had her for a year now and I grew her first I said No fucking way this is the truth It's a smaller more slower plant Bushes a little and has lateral arms not much stretch no stacking all Golf balls and Pine Cone tops but let me tell you how fucking stoked I am........I about cried , I believe this one is the true Cherry Kush that Str8Flame and Cookie fam had they'll talk about but they'll deny it's available they lost it long ago they hate to think anyone else still has it but thank God I know from growing that original in Cali or else I would think the 3 others I grew were it.If it threw nannerz it wasn't the real deal. The real deal cherry pie grows close to og in structure with longer internode spacing and separate buds. The colas are not huge. Lots of small nugs that are about the same size. Turns purple , I've NEVER seen green cherry pie. The taste is purplefunk og. If you breed with it , that taste puches through. Absolutely better than girl scout cookies.
If it threw nannerz it was probably dhn bullshit.
