I bought some cheapo plastic pots to put my cloth pots into..(Nevada High Sierra Summers are Brutally hot..Sunscreen in place will stop about 20-30% of the rays.)
I left one 5 gallon black fabric pot un-shielded..Really no difference.
I must water 3-4 times per day and like you..my pots are full up with roots..
August will be even hotter and I may get one of those personal mister things to hook up to the hose..

You can see in the background..the grass is already burned out..even with an automatic sprinkler (hard to get water down deep in clay soil:()

I only grew a few outside this yr for shits and giggles..HOWEVER..I see a ton of hash just waiting this fall..LOL

Been using Capt. Jack's Dead Bug Brew every week..so far, so good..many have tried..and many have died trying to chomp my ladies..LMAO
They are so chock full of pre-flowers..the harvest should be amazing..NOTHING LIKE THE SUN FOR FREE LIGHT!!;)

We've used the bamboo privacy fencing to wrap around the black grow bags to help shelter them from the direct sun, it made a difference on the plant drying out so fast. Now we are in the wood boxes and i put some in the kiddy pools so no worries there anymore. They love that 90-100+ temp.

I thought these girls were huge back when I posted this up but now holy crap, they are taller than me by almost a foot now. In the end it was heat stress and we are headed for the 100's this weekend again. Next year shade cloth for sure!

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Monsters!!! Gotta love it.
We hit the 100's the other day and it will last all August too. Reno is about 4500ft above sea level..I am 500ft higher than that..Absolutely living in a Sauna bath.
The huge differential between days and nights is amazing!
