The negative pressure thing is better for smell related issues imo. The zippers and the vents will let some air go through when tent has positive pressure. With negative pressure you can be sure all the air will move thru the carbon filter. I’m just brainstorming :)

What does difficult to grow even mean? My only experience was with Humboldt Blue Dream and it was truly seamless. Is veg easy and flower not so much? I remember the worst part being germination lol. As in I was just afraid they weren't going to pop up through the soil :p

What do you mean? I would put money on this CanFan moving more air than the VenTech one, regardless of the 20 CFM difference in rating. Two speed controllers anyways.

Why does it need to be more, though? Wouldn't that create negative pressure? I'd imagine a little bit of negative pressure is OK but I wouldn't shoot for it.

I agree with positive pressure being better, but I dont have worries about odors since it's legal to grow where I am. @CrimsonEcho makes a good point considering your sit.

I've heard a happy plant doesn't smell much, even in flower. Pulling the air through a carbon filter and exhausting it into the attic should be fine. I'm getting a brand new carbon filter anyways. I don't think I'd consider pressure in regards to controlling smell.

I think it is easy because it likes feeding and reacts well to training, also short life cycle (45-50 days according to sensi, i pulled at 60) so it is unlikely to get any pest outbreaks. Also pretty resistant to mold too. My gro area has 70-80% rh and only had pm once on 2 leaves. Overall these qualities makes it easy to grow.

I was actually shocked to not have any pest problems with my first attempt...I sleep where I'm going to grow. This time I'm actually going to clear the whole room out and really be careful with cleanliness, even though there were no issues the first time around. I believe I got lucky. 70-80% sounds crazy high compared to what I remember my tent getting to back then and I'm in Florida. But I figure humidity is one of those things you can afford to observe during the grow and order necessary equipment to control it without having much trouble.

In veg? Or just flower? My plants did not smell at all and they were extremely happy. They were in veg for nearly 3 months I believe but I never got out of veg.

The bigger one is bigger I think because its branch received more light due to training differences (unintentional). One of my favorite observations of the experience...

My grow area is very close to my bedroom too and thats the cleanest place in the house.
Yes you can control the humidity of course but it costs extra energy and money. A good resistant strain with good flowers (ie. NL) would eliminate those costs. Every person unplugging a dehumdifier or switching to leds etc. makes a difference, tiny difference yes but its better than nothing :)
They look healthy and bushy, good work dude.

What should I know about LED? I'm not switching of-course, lol, since I've never flowered and used a T5 light only (which is sort of like LED, yeah?). These lights look wild.

I don't know who came up with that saying but I don't think they ever grew pot, lol. My girls stink and they aren't even in flower yet. Aside from a slight bit of leaf curl from overwatering due to temps shifting cold, do they look happy to you?

In my limited experience, I'd say the opposite is true, happy as a skunk. Hehehe

All joking aside, I think you're going to have a brilliant grow. I'd love to have your setup to tinker with. I'm envious and already have six monsters of my own to play with. Looking forward to watching it progress, +subbed.

Yup, COBs are a different animal. Just remember they are far more powerful than they seem. Make sure you have good clearance with a rig like yours. Also dim it down a lot and work your way up. I haven't been able to crack 70% on my little 200w CXB3590 2x100w without cooking my girls.

Yeah this shit is so fucking bright. Thank God there is a dimmer with lcd display he hasn't got one working with the little one yet. He said to hang it at 18" and play with the dimmer.

I think 18" may be too close with that rigg, but I'm not the expert here. If you ever need help ask for Sixstring or Toaster79, they are the resident experts I know of. I defer to their knowledge every time and with your setup you might peak their interest. I'm looking forward to seeing how your's goes because I'm always up for learning how to make my grow better by watching other's success/failures (I'm hoping for the former for you).

I think the experts might suggest removing those concentrator lenses as well. You'll get better efficiency and coverage without them from what I've been told. I kept mine on because of my small grow space.

This exact light has grown at 18" without issue. Grower actually said that is the sweet spot and he'd never even used LED apparently. I don't know what he did with dimming though.

I would like for any experts to chime in. My buddy is a super nice guy and he's extremely excited for these lights. He believes they are the future and I don't have a tough time considering that. LED is pretty new still, no? A US patent has got to be huge for this industry.
