Thanks for your kind words! I'm kind of fighting with that finicky black dog but the 4 bubblegum are doing good, about three weeks left on them

When the perlite arrives on Christmas Eve I'm going to switch to just Promix & perlite, probably 70/30, and then the fun will begin cuz I've never used it!? LOL

..hope it works out cuz it's the way I'm going from here forward, aside from feeding more frequently I'm going to treat it like soil and see how that goes?!🤞
Is there a reason for you mixing perlite with the promix?
I never have as I thought promix drained quite well.

I didnt realize you were getting the perlite for pro mix. If its pro mix hp I didnt need any. Same dry cycle as OF with 30% perlite for me.

No I've never used promix, I usually mix 25 or 30% perlite with everything, so? I've got a few days to read up on it thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I've already got some running in veg now with this mixture at 25%, they seem to be fine but I will read up on it before I mix anymore up.

It's the basic promix (ap) that they sell up the street at Lowe's, seems to be very little perlite in it, looks like it needs it

Edit: I got it at Home Depot, Lowe's at least around here sucks! It's closer but I just drive right past it now and up the highway to Home Depot to save myself the time and frustration of shopping there

It does look a bit different than the HP I just picked up.

In my last run with the auto pots I did mix in a lot of worm castings and even some coco in with promix hp.
I had other intentions for that soil but used it in the pots after a impulse buy, it seemed to work well.

Sure beats the $40+ from the grow shop.
The price is great, how can I not use it but even better I love the feel, the texture of it, it seems perfect for indoor use! No more ffof

I've used it in my outdoor tomatoes many times, but was the cheaper stuff in the bale. I read it likes 6.2 but everything I mix comes out at 6.4 and nothing's complaining, so for now everything's looking good! 🤞

Its $40 a bale here with taxes in, I never see it on sale or cheaper. The only way to get it for less is when they sell half bales for $25. I asked about a light one member here was using and she posted the Amazon.com link to it for $99. I looked here at Amazon .ca and the same light is $249. I'd buy 2 of them if I could at her price but I can't afford 1 of them here. Yea! free / not so free sub standered health care.

I know, it's a great price, but it will probably go up like everything else! plus it's not really $14 a bale because you have to add perlite into it, still a great deal tho

I'm just hoping I can figure out how to use it lol! shouldn't be too hard but it might take a run to figure out what it likes

This is a 2 cubic foot bale of their retail store mix. The pro mix hp (high porosity) bale is 3.8 cubic feet of their professional mix. They say they use a better grade of peat in the pro products.

Not to say the retail mix is bad but it is not the same product they sell to professional greenhouses and such.

just wanted to clear that up. Info all on their website. Pthorticulture dot com.

Can only find it in a couple places down here, I’ve seen it as high as 22$ for the 1.5 bag! It’s crazy been contemplating buying online, just not used to paying for dirt! Lmao guess I need to get used to it .

Have you checked local farm feed type stores or greenhouses may sell their own professional mix?

Also ace hardware will ship to store a good varietyof growing media from their website.

I have looked at local feed places but they aren’t like home( Michigan) everything shipped in from other countries they get $15 fir a bale of hay ! I have plenty of farmer friends that would gladly take 5.
But I do have an ace hardware around the corner ima ck the site .
