Ipm insect prevention methods?

lights are off, I’ll take closer pics Tonight. I thought I took a close up.
I had no idea it was so bad till I out the yelllw tape on the bottoms. So far I don’t see anything around the new clones in there. They will eventually.

Going to buy diatomaceous earth and dti, also going to pull everything out and clean tonight. everything is to stinky to put outside, I need to get this under control or pull it all and start over. I knew the wedding cake had bugs, should have pulled it sooner

gnats!!!!!

yup, get your growing medium sorted. soil/potting mix may have already gnats, but then unsuitable growing conditions encourages gnats.

p.s. yellow stick tape accounts for the mature flying adults.....so drier conditions deals with breeding....etc

Pretty much positive they are root aphids. As well as the gnats. They are darker color than a lot of the pics, but look really similar. More after work....

Mosquito bits or dunks, miMed uses a liquid going to try it when I run out of bits I'll post it when I get a moment

But as well as the byi and the yellow stickies a 9 inch high velocity fan or two on the floor of your tent is the best thing you can do imo, completely disrupt their cycle (you'll find them walking because they can't fly), in conjunction with a tight wet-dry watering cycle of course, hope this helps!

Its Microbe lift for the BT but that only messes with the gnat larvae. You may need a real pesticide here.

Well.... I cut the romie and the big herer, I have to get drastic, this cannot continue, it will only get worse.
I put the 3 smaller herer outside and sprayed the bottoms of the plants and the soil and pot till it was all dripping. gonna replace the sticky barriers and see what turns up.
I did the same with the 8 clones I had semi protected with multiple sticky barriers.
Going to put sticky borders around the bottoms of them as well and see if anything turns up over the next few days.
If so I’m gonna bag up all this shit in a trash bag and seal it shut.
So far so good in the veg and seedling tents, no sign of crawlers. Sprayed the bottoms of the plants lightly anyway.

6 of them in the coco mix need nutes now. there’s an obvious difference my smart phone is to stupid to capture. the standard OF blend still is giving the other 2 better color and slightly faster growth.

Not sure if you mean outside the tent or outside the house but indoor plants should never go outside in my opinion, that might be where the aphids came from in the first place? good luck, hope that info helps!

Also sprayed everything with bleach and wiped it down, but that’s only the beginning, I need to drastically improve my containment. I have been reading about how easy it is to contaminate the grow. Especially me being in the outside garden all the time. So I need a prevention plan. Gonna get all Leslie Knope with it. No more dirty after work strait into the lab. Need to get my lab outfit clean and set aside, and line my area with plastic and seal it around the tents. So they are inside their own room. It will make it so much easier to control everything as well. I should buy an extra set of ph/tds testers and leave them, as well as the other tools, in place. To prevent contamination.

Actually that’s all I got any other suggestions?

Bought one gallon fabric pots, I don’t like them as much but I think they will help prevent infestation at least until I figure all this out. And for the smaller clones I’m doing it should be perfect. I got 20 so once they are gone maybe I can graduate to plastic pots again. The holes on the bottoms are all you can eat buffets of roots.

Man you just hit it right there! Thats a big No-No! when I come in from the garden I take off everything I have on down to skin, I hose off my legs & arms outside before I even come inside

If I've been picking tomatoes, mowing or deep in the garden weeding I take a shower before I go into the grow, and I don't let outdoor pets into the grow room ever

I keep a set of light clothing that I do my outdoor gardening in by the back door, where I also keep my outdoor gardening supplies, and by the way you never mix gardening tools from outdoor to inside, hope this helps good luck

I just started using 5-gallon Fabric bags because I had a couple of plants that had gotten too big in their 3 gallon plastic pots and I'm not a big fan of them either if I'm honest :/

couple 9 in High Velocity fans on the floor I find discourage bugs from traveling much and is a good preventive measure, the more you can do to inconvenience them the better

I agree, I put them outside in my garden shed, they won’t be back inside, I will probably end up tossing them honestly

One of the smaller jacks was more frosty than the others, it has a sweeter smell to, I am thinking about taking some cuttings and throwing the rest away, I only have neem as a pesticide, think a neem oil dunking be enough to make the clones safe?
