Cake N Chem topped yesterday at 6th/7th nodes. Was up-potted to trade pots a few days ago and been under 1000w 4000k MH for about a week now. They're all in fresh FFOF. Starting soil I had them in cost me some time, didnt have much nutrients left in it hence the yellow leaves at the first node. Better to under feed than over feed though imo.

Four regular seeds, hoping for at least two females, if more I'll keep the best two. Nice and compact so far. Anticipating flip in 4-6 weeks. No cloning, this will be a single run.

One addition to things this year will be ozone filter in exhaust. I plan to DIY, just need to order the parts.

Updates in the tent last weekend. The boys got evicted, all 3 of them. Was hoping for 2 girls, but thats the risk I took with only popping 4. All good, veg will just be a little longer to fill the screen.

Up-potted her into a 5g with fresh FFOF; placed on a 8" step stool and then added the 1st screen layer. 24hrs later, super-cropped below the top node to shorten her profile and began training.

A 16qt container will be placed next to the stool to catch runoff, the saucer will have a hole in it to allow it to drain.

Temps are a few degrees above where I'd like them, leaf VPD running 1.3ish. Wont last much longer tho, cooler weather is coming soon.

Day temp 82-85
Night temp 73-75
RH 55-64%

Thats the way it crumbles sometimes, shucks man. Maaaybe try to scratch up a few clones from some buddies?! or stick her in a 10 gallon fabric pot!!

Its all good, plan B in effect, makes it easier with just one pot to manage. Just hoping I luck out with a decent pheno with this one. Looking to beat my previous yield in the tent, 14oz, which was an under performance IMO. Onward and upward! Lets gooooo

Two weeks later. Cruising right along, drinking little over a gallon every two days. Thinking she'll be ready to flip in another 2 weeks, looking for screen to be about 60% full. Second layer of netting will go in after all the tucking is completed.

Water halo on the way, making improvements to automated watering system. Water only in this system. Feeding done by hand.

Leaf VPD trend: 1-1.2

@Newber definitely going with a bigger pot next time, I do like the sound of a 10g

About 4 weeks later, we're almost to showtime with Cake n Chem. Anticipating flipping first week of December, canopy is 33" from the light so plenty to work with. UVB light goes in when flipped. Will add second net layer after 1st week of flip and 3rd layer if needed. HPS light wont go in until 3rd week of stretch.

Added auto watering system, runs every 48hrs except feed days, pumps 1g of water only, drip drain into tub. Hand feed. 2ec seems to be the most she likes, noticed slight tip burn above that (Maxigro 10-5-14 & potassium bicarbonate for ph up). Cleaned up quite a bit underneath this week. A few days before flip I'll remove most growth that isnt getting, or very close to, direct light.

Upgraded my iPower 6" inline fan and variac to Cloudline S6 and glad I did. Great fan, highly recommend you consider it for your grow.

Leaf VPD been higher than I like last few weeks, 1.1-1.5. Been tough keeping humidity high enough while balancing air flow for temp control. Not a huge deal, but also not providing best environment for her to operate at her potential. Cooler humid weather on the way, so thats good, and the flip to flower will allow for higher leaf vpd anyway.

PSA- check your ec/ppm meters for accuracy bi-annually. replace if necessary, too important and too cheap to be lazy with these.

Flipped Cake N Chem 10 days ago, let the show begin! Didnt get the canopy as full as I'd like, but needed to get this flipped. She had been vegging for nearly 2 months. Tucking tucking tucking and more tucking. Tent is about 65% full.

Defoliated underneath 3 days ago and a little more today that became more visible. Mainly looking for growth that will not reach direct light.

She seems to prefer a mild feed around 1ec, although I'll kick it up a bit for the stretch, but keep it under 1.5ec.

Six days after flip, I cut 8 clones and plan to run these SOG style once they are about 12" tall. No plugs, rooters, gel, or anything. Just made fresh cuts on each one under water and stuck them 2/3 nodes deep into fresh FFOF with ph water. Placed them all into my trailer park clone dome; box with clear plastic cover under DIY 50w 4k cob. Humidity is 70% and 74 degrees, should be ready for more light next week. Only one looks like she might struggle a little but I'm confident I will bring them all home.

Only downside with this is I need to configure a feed/watering system that will be user friendly. I have some ideas. Every challenge we overcome in our grows makes us better.

Happy growing

17 days since flip, not too stretchy. I coulda filled the whole net and flipped without height issues, noted for next run. Smells a bit like cake and frost began showing a couple days ago.

Clones are chugging along slowly, its a few degrees cooler than I'd like for them. Patience.

Upgraded top canopy fan to 12" Hurricane, dig it.

Some pics to share

Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best and happy grows.

An update before lights on this morning, about a month into flower. Flowers looking on the smaller side, may be related to slight underfeed last couple weeks. She had been getting 1.3-1.8ec and she looks to want more. I'll be upping to 2.5ec for a couple feeds, she wont be this hungry much longer. Anticipating running another 6 weeks or so.

Clones are moving at a snails pace so I switched out the cob LED for my 400MH 3 days ago, running at 75%. The added heat is helping significantly. Roots popped out of the cup on one of them yesterday, not fast by any means. However, I also confirmed cloning can be done with zero additives as I theorized. Success!

This was two days ago, day 35. Added Agromax UVB last weekend. Fade may be on the horizon.

I kept one clone, pulled the rest, none had roots. Clipping clones on day 5 after flip is too late apparently, this clone revegged. Probably also contributed to the delay.

Into the drying tent, whole plant hung. Sure wish I knew what strain this is, any one wanna take stab at guessing? My two best guesses is grape ape and GSC. A few pics to share
Now and Later would be a good guess.

Nice colors starting to come out too. Nice work.

Pics with better light. Looking frosty in there, purple fade beginning to show.

And the lone survivor clone. Flipped a week ago.

End of day 50. Fade setting in. Smells like Cake.....and Chem.

Anticipating running another 3 weeks at least. We'll see what she tells me.

The clone will be fed more heavily throughout flower, 2-3ec.

End of day 60, looks like she'll go another 10 days at least. I gave her rain water the last three cycles, runoff was at 1.5ec today, smelling delicious in there. She'll get one more feed in a couple days at 1.5ec then it will be water only from there, soil will have plenty to get her to the finish line as her appetite falls off. Cloudy trich's rollin in

Clone ended day 21, increased resin production vs prior round at this point. The difference: more food. Cake N Chem appears to prefer 2-3ec when fed.

beautiful...

End of Day 70. Stigma's beginning to tuck in, still about 50% clear trichs, flowers still swelling. Approximately 4-7 more days and she comes down

Clone, Day 31. Second run continues to look flawless. When her older sister is done, I'll switch out the 1000w to a 400w bulb and ballast and drop the light down on her. Will be plenty of light just for the clone and I can also turn all fans and humidifiers down.
