do y'all think this concept of cages restricting airflow would play all the way through all fan sizes? specifically plastic fans. Wondering if y'all are onto something I just haven't ever really considered. would make sense with the volume of air bladed fans move, any restriction is sure to have a drastic impact on throughput. just wondering if that same concept applies with little 6" fans too.
Oh for sure it does.

It absolutely applies. It's basic fluid dynamics man. Will a screen slow down water?

that's exactly what I was thinking. those dinky little 6" fans don't move much, so i'm not sure the math works out against the risks of the blades contacting the walls of a tent vs more airflow, but otherwise it adds up.

Ducted fans are best. They are more efficient.

Purple stems are usually an artifact of cold night time air.
Absolutely. Cold night make purple stems.
it can be genetic too. The purple punch in this wedding crasher shows up as purple pinstriping that some might chase down as a P Def if they didn't know how the strain do.

Here, have some fuckin Canadiana

eh, i'd argue that, especially with the example that's being discussed. there's a particular color that comes from K def. it's like violet instead of outright purple, which is more signatory of temp.

well, obviously. are you gonna throw a 12" centrifugal fan to circulate the air above your canopy though? nah. you just need air movement, not massive CFM efficiency for the purposes of what i'll for now refer to as pancake fans (i legit don't know what the style of fan is actually referred to as).

dammit, i always get em mixed up. P def is right. Though look at that purple vs the purple in the pic that @PK1 posted. True purple vs the entire stem weak, and violet purplish red. two different things entirely.

Yeah I agree 100%, you can see the difference between genetic purple and cold induced purple, or P Def purple. If you know what to look for.
