I’m too old to change handles! Maybe next year it will be 70% female. Yeah it stays hot here for a while but don’t have to worry about the humidity and the rain that the Easterners do. At least as much. I don’t need a lot , And it’s fun just growing them no matter what the result. When they start flowering here and the weather cools off some you can almost relax. Learn a lot every year. But won’t live long enough to be an expert. Lol. Hope things are going well over there and keep an eye on your neighbors plant. Take it easy man!

Thanks Canna granny! I have nothing but respect for you! And your abilities! If they all disappeared tomorrow it would be a heartfelt, oh well! As a few of us old timers have figured out, and At the risk of being cliché, it’s not about the Destination. It’s about the journey! What a long strange trip it’s been! And will continue to be! Hopefully! Lol. Have a good one sister!

Can't tell you how much I agree OC. Yall may have my senior but you'd just know more not to judge books by their covers. I might have only been 15 but I was there

Awesome PT! Back in my day being a deadhead was a way of life! Glad you got to see them. Age means nothing! Just keep an open mind, Soak it all up, and enjoy the ride! One of my favorite quotes, I think by George Clinton, is, free your mind and your ass will follow! L O L! And music is such a powerful tool for opening minds if you let it. I dearly love, Spotify! Brent Mydland's tenure on piano was such a good version of the music, wonderful song. I waited 'till I was 40 to see the dead in Mountain View, CA. (never wanted people to know I was a dirty recycled hippie in a suit). Went with one of my co-workers who was called Yo-Yo man because of what he could do with a slinky. Another 'aged to perfection' grower here. Thanks so much for starting this thread Oldchucky, I've loved reading it and can relate to most of it. Being in Michigan our season is much shorter and I started growing Autos because they finish so fast. I'm an outdoor only grower for hubby and my sleep medicine. Bought Northern Lights seeds from Seedsman and they sent free photo period seeds so I had to try them. They grow like 'weeds' but finishing is 50/50 before the rot gets them.

Be careful putting the fabric pots on the ground in one place too long, the roots like to grow right through them. I have moved them when they have small feeder roots without much trouble, but once the tap root finds it's way out it's another thing entirely.

Right on,cpurola! Don’t think I will move the pots on the ground at all unless absolutely necessary. I kind of like the idea of the roots getting down into the hard pan, chasing some of the nutrients that I’ve leached out throughout the summer. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all growers back there who fight the good fight to get them to the finish line! You really have to be on your game! Out here, almost any numb nuts can Get them to the finish line. I am a good example of that! Thanks for stopping by and good luck with those photos.

Thanks! Grew the free seeds 2 years ago and had no idea how big they could get. Description said 6-7 foot, I ended up with trees.
I split the bottom of the fabric pots open before putting on the grass and these grew.
There's a harbour freight greenhouse back there somewhere.

Well many thanks @Oldchucky 🥰 sure made me smile! I fully agree with what you say, seems you, like me, feel it’s not our place to arrive perfectly preserved, but rather come sliding in sideways yelling hellllll yeah, what a ride!
Long and strange is an understatement! I wouldn’t trade a minute of the memories. In the end that’s what we have, and if ya real blessed some darn good homegrown to go with them.
