China, Saudi, and even cartel are all buying up property and/or mining companies in north & South America. They want everything that makes batteries. It’s the current oil boom.

IIRC Canada just lost another company to China in the last month or so. Only caught the end of the report.

Hanging out with people you don't particularly care for is draining, even if the actual activity wasn't all that bad... for me at least... there's a few in my husband's fam that have this effect on me.... dread going and then can't wait to leave lol. Mostly for the same reasons, misalignment of beliefs and staunch refusal to see anyone else's perspective... I just don't like those types in general. I find that if you're willing to have civil discussions, you can usually find more similarities than you would have thought possible... but if both sides aren't willing to be open minded or even consider that... that ain't gonna happen.... Annnnnd that's why America is divided AF. 🤷‍♀️
Word. Its funny how when disasters happen people forget their differences and usually band together. In normal daily life, people tend to stay stuck in their mental ruts and never leave them, because its too hard to dismantle your entire belief system. I call it mental laziness. This is also why weed is good, it makes people not so egotistical and more communicative.

I was always told to be strong, independent, and then help others. Work from within to keep it strong or you will fail.

We don’t do that as a country anymore. We throw money at a problem; and only if it’s a political or very public issue.

Right and wrong are now fluid. Laws are made by fear and public opinion.

Not cool.

A few reasons I think the talk of the loss of the USD as the world standard don't amount to anything:

1. I don't think the loss of the US dollar as the world's currency would matter all that much. The world went to the dollar from the British pound sterling quite abruptly in the 50s, and it didn't seem to affect London's place in world finance. I view the threat of the dollar no longer being used as the standard to be empty and not achievable by the countries that want to do it.

2. Russia can't do it. They're really a weak country with nukes and massive land resources. I kind of expect Russia to start losing land by multiple means, in the future. Some might be lost to breakaway republics as the country continues to weaken. But I believe they will eventually be leasing out chunks of land in the east to the Chinese for mineral and other development, that they will eventually lose to China.

3. China can't do it. China, is a totalitarian state, where the whims of a single leader and small group of cowed advisors can change policy and the direction of the country. Businesses that find themselves at odds with these whims get screwed on a regular basis. Business wants stability and predictability, not whims that can either destroy a business or its market in an instant. China is also a secretive state. No one trusts the economic data the government spews out, unless it is backed up by data they cannot taint. China would have to change tremendously to gain the trust of business.

So anyway, if they do it, they will have to change to be more open in order to do it, which would be good in the long run. Secondly, which economic powerhouses that have arisen since WW2 were hurt by using US dollars as a world standard? It sure hasn't mattered to China, Japan, the OPEC nations or Germany.
Interesting take! Granted China did steal LOTS of technology from the US, so unless we play dirty like that with China, then we will be at a disadvantage I would assume.

We're going to need some massive external threat for this divided world to come together... like alien invasion or something... aside from that, we'll probably just keep squabbling amongst ourselves until we cause the fall of civilization or the death of the planet... whichever comes first... or as a fun third option, AI takes over and we live in a matrix like dystopian nightmare to serve our AI overloards. Either way, we've got good weed to watch the show unfold lol.

Afternoon ere’body!
I’m late to the party today. Been visiting on my front porch with some friends. Coffee, laughter and a smoky haze rolling off the porch. All is good good in the woods hood.
It’s pretty cool here today a brisk north breeze and sure not the lovely t shirt weather blown at us from the south last week. Momma nature has a sense of humor. It’s just that I don’t get it! 😜
I see that politics are making their way to the corner. As long as we all respect one another’s opinions and not forget that we started as friends just growing together and helping each other out.
With that said, this is also one of the last places left that we were able to come together with common goals, enjoy one, another share the commonalities, and sometimes fall out of our chairs laughing. Keep that in mind.
Nuff said. Besides that, my opinions would flip some of you out.
Ive waited years to gain age so I could just be known as eccentric 🤭
Wishing a great day upon you all 🥰

Weird goings on here in the bog garden.
I thought it might have died over winter, it was unusually cold a couple times and rainier than Noah’s launch.

The sun is beginning to wake everything up.
