Love the flower accents. Are they a helper species?
Actually, the geraniums are there 'cause I read that the flower petals, when eaten by Japanese Beetles will paralyze them for 12-24 hours. (giving local critters on the ground a chance to eat them) And they were started from seed. Of course just like the weed, I started too many and stuck them out back because they looked awful in the plastic pots. And yes, they look much better now.

The ferny, grassy things are Roman Chamomile, another 'started too many seeds', but I know the beneficals like nectar, and they will be blooming soon.

OH, you wanted the SHORT version. LOL

More bad news. TOGYK's Psychedelic Banjo was attacked by something.
Corn earworm, another borer, don't know, but the whole top of the stalk is limp above the hole. 🙁

Ya, the pic makes the stalk look flat, it isn't.
Don't know what to do with it, probably just leave it alone and see what happens.

Just for grins I looked back at last year's grow, same day. OMG

Life is one big Rorschach test! There are a lot of ink blots displayed on this site! But I can take a hint! Over five years it’s only 10 a day, every day! Lol! I’ll try and keep my big trap shut just for you! But not making any guarantees!😈😂🍻 i’ll try to quit stirring up shit and quit telling it like I think it is! And then everything will just be hunky-dory! One big Waltons mountain!😆🐒

You better NOT change a thing. We luv ya here. Otherwise, who would I spar with? Wouldn't be no fun at all. LOL

Went out this morning and put the rest of the trellis' up. Looks like I'm missing 2.
1 is the plastic sh*t I'm leaving 'cause it was a nightmare to put up.
2 is the pot with only 1 plant due to the other 2 turning male.

On a destroy all Japanese beetles kick. They are eating all my flowers. One small dollop of dawn dish soap and they're history.

Canna lily leaves

Hey weird question do you know if is this a canna Lilly. When I use the iNaturalist app that’s what it tells me it is but it’s only like 50% sure which it never does lol My girl got it in a basket then planted it in ground. Has beautiful flowers now but I have no clue what it is.

You can kind of see from this pic that there was two plants in the hanging basket thing. I think that’s why it’s so hard to figure it out on the app

Canna, gotta pull the bulb out in the fall. Plant one, get a bunch. Humming birds love em. I plant them every year in my weedy garden.

Sure looks like it to me. How tall is it?
Found a vendor/website:
Most of the ones I've seen have been professionally planted and it's usually a mass planting.
Hubby's been noticing the flowers when we drive around and asked if I could grow them.
I started from seed and my plants are supposed to get 3-4 feet tall. They may not this year, but if I dig them up and treat them right over the winter, NEXT year I expect flowers. 🙂

Heya C I had that happen to one of my best plants back about six years ago. I went Ape shit I cut the top off just below the hole then rammed a bass guitar string into the hole until I felt a pop sound then I wrapped a decoy cord around the stem about an inch below the hole I cut as tight as I could get it then dripped wax from a candle to seal the hole like a cap and let it branch it survived just fine
