Always watching videos on the daily looking for tips or just to confirm shit in my brain.. plus it's entertaining. Found a segment on measuring leaf surface temps. Think they mentioned that this leaf surface temperatures was what really counted as far as ambient temps go. That's what I heard, maybe I was half asleep , but it got me to check the temps, love that tool. Aim that red dot and boom... instant leaf temps. Compared to the last grow I'm 4 degrees cooler on the leaf surface temps. I updated the AC Infinity (controller) Leaf Temp Offset.
Citric Acid.. a dirty word to some folks. I was hesitant to use it, mainly to help descale the hard water of my tap. (Leaves a heavy scale.) I sometimes RO filter to remove that (delete salts too) but can be a drag to use sometimes. Plus the waste, bothers me some days. Anyways, finding out that the roots of our plants create citric acid (on their own) put me at ease to try this stuff. BUT IT CAN KILL YOUR MICROBES! True, anything used
without moderation can kill our microbes. And that's the key. Want to burn your plant.. dump a gang of anything n the soil.
"Hard water contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium. These minerals can bind to other essential nutrients in the soil, making them unavailable to plants. Citric acid (a lot like Humic Acid) acts as a chelating agent, meaning it forms a bond with these hard water minerals, effectively tying them up and preventing them from interfering with nutrient uptake".
So I tried it yesterday. 1/8 teaspoon to a gallon of hard tap water. Saw that citric acid is great for fungi too. They seem to love it. Heard Jeff Lowenfels mentioning that. Probably the reason some flowering products add it.
