Unfortunately - no. Ive read that the STS stops production of the chemical that makes the female flower - turning it male. And not the other way around.
Ill toss these 2 males - move the females and only have 1 per tent. Actually better in the long run I guess, give them some room and increase yeild a bit.

But, Ive missed the boat on spraying these other 2 plants (i think) - so I cant get any feminized seeds out of them.
Maybe Ill try it one branch, just to see.

So much room for activities!

But, damn that hurts, 7 weeks effort down the drain. Good that Ive still got some going, probably another 7 weeks (or more) to go for these 2.
It does look like the clones I took are going to make it, but I cant think of a reason to keep any of them either.

Ah man that sucks! Kept your cloning skills sharp! šŸ‘šŸ¼
Both this plants can blow up and enjoy ALL the tent space to themselves!!

2nd week of flower.
Really stretching out, using up that extra room - I may live to regret using those 5 gallon pots (I usually go with 3 gallon indoors)

Pretty happy with the form theyve taken now - after the bend.
Alot of good structure, solid bud sites.
Often (because of my limited tent height) I have to cut the lights early - and so end up going to flower with smaller branches and therefore, in the end, buds.

Not sure if this counts as LST (low stress training) but...
At around 4 weeks I bent them 90° - using some bonzai wire.
Stalled out the "top" stem, letting the other side branches catch up. Creates a nice flat top of like 8 colas - without needing to cut/trim anything, risking stress and shitty growth.

Bought me an extra 2 weeks of veg, allowed the branches to really develop without gaining too much height.

And the second tent
20251231 134051

Good flavor developing in both, even though neither of these were an early favorite.

3rd week of flower.
Good form, tightly stacked buds on the crown. Not super stinky yet - somewhat concerning but....thats exactly what happened with the original pollinator plant (looked good but didnt have a strong smell until late)

And, even though they looked very similar in the begining theyve diverged a bit now. Idk if it was just flowering or if the different lights brought it out. But the one took on a much darker green - and slightly fruitier smell after being moved into its own tent.

Both filling out nicely, still reaching and just about out of height - only a few inches away in some cases.
I can still bend a bit, try to get them away from the light - if they cant handle it (start to foxtail)

Little leaf trimming everyday - uncovering budsites or useless dying stuff from underneath. But my biggest cuts have been the clones, otherwise mostly intact.

Ive named them both - as theyve continued to diverge.

Bummer Dan
20260111 110715

20260111 110729

Tough to see in the pics, but the structure on this one is amazing (I wish the smell was too, but still pretty mild) The budsights are so close together, most of these branches will be just foot long buds.

and
Slippery Dan
20260111 110853

Darker, broader leaves - stronger smell, fruitier flavor than Bummer Dan. Larger single buds but sparser growth. More like the males I grew by accident earlier.

Got some clones going for both. They should live stunted at 12/12 until I can grow them out later and seed them or whatever, maybe in the spring.

And, I had some pollen in the freezer from august - autoflower male from outside - I figured Id (very carefully) use a little before it went bad. So I dusted a few buds to see what happened.

I think - because these plants have the same recessive auto genes - it could bring the auto back out(?) Right?
Big plans are piling up for next seasons outdoor I guess.

So, we knew this day was coming.
After a few weeks up against the light the canopy was lookin stressed - Some curling/yellowing, crispy leaves.

So I turned the light down 25% today. Id have only done 15% but thats not an option.
20260115 115240

Ive read I can turn it down more if I want - that the intensity isnt as important right now? I guess we'll see, if it doesnt recover I may try 50%.

Im guessing, 3 maybe 4 more weeks or flower? They can afford a few damaged leaves - Ill be cutting a couple everyday anyway.
I can still do some bending as well, but I dont want to stress it right when the buds are trying to fatten up - so ill keep it light.

Trying to keep things fertilized and moist while the buds are bulking up.
Theyll get a dry period towards the end - encourage some resin buildup.

Still gettin a little cooked by the lights (at the very top) not much I can do about it though - no room left.

Slippery Dan has been gaining strength - developing a stronger fruity smell.
20260119 090449

Bummer Dan has some monster buds - but, still very little smell to it (concerning) most of the top center leaves are looking cooked, but the buds still look good - no foxtail yet.

Few weeks left on each, 2 or 3 maybe? Cant wait...

Looks like the frozen pollen worked. Seeing a few developing seeds.

I hope I timed the pollenation correctly. This summer I noticed that when the seeds are fully developed, all the tissue around it dies off - and if it happens too soon, it can start a rot inside the bud.
Presumably to make sure the seeds drop out on their own before winter?

I didnt go crazy with it, just a light dusting on these particular buds.

I didnt really need any more seeds from this line, just curious to see if the frozen pollen would work - and also to see if it could bring the autoflower back out. Ill pop some of these summer and see.

Cool thread @juliando Do these 'Dan' plants autoflower or they have some auto dna

I think the batch of seeds that produced these 2 plants will not have any autos in them - Because the Agent Orange (mother) does not have the recessive gene.
But, on their fathers side - there is a true auto and recessive genes through a Mystery plant (seed mixup) and the Goldengate Haze.

So...if I understand (and I may not) These seeds that Ive just made with Bummer/Slippery Dan could be 50% auto. Im gonna try them this summer and if I catch one - Ill grab some clones.

Auto Ɨ Photo = F1 100% photo
F1 Ɨ F1 = F2 25% auto
F1 Ɨ Auto (parent) = Bx1 50% auto

Welp...As usual, its a race to the finish with the spider mites.
Crazy how they seem to show up no matter what.
Bleached tent and pots, treated and quarantined soil - no plants moved in from outside...little bastards.
Probably hiding in some crevice I couldnt reach - or the air filter or something.
But, I am close to the end here (few more weeks) so I probably wont try to treat - other than removing affected leaves. I dont like spraying anything on fully formed buds, so Ill just let it ride.
20260123 092508

If I start to see lots of webs I may just harvest - theyre both pretty close to being done. Im basically just waiting for the seeds to mature at this point anyway.

That really sucks @juliando Without any type of sprays, may be difficult to control. Like tpu said, keep plucking leaves and fingers crossed for a solid harvest bro

Seems like its just the cost of doing buisness, theyll show up every grow at some point.

In the past - its been my fault for moving plants in/out during the summer, bringing pests in. But these have been isolated the whole time.

Ill do a super deep clean on the whole system in between batches, time for a new carbon filter anyways (4 years old)

In the home stretch, last week or so I think - 12 weeks total now.
Ive done some decent clone runs at 12 weeks total (4 veg and 8 flower) - but that would be pretty short for starting from seed.

I rarely wait for amber trichs, milky is good enough for me - so Im usually good with 13-15 weeks (depending on strain) And if I push it too far the big buds end up rotting - even in the tent with 50-ish% humidity.

Mite/light damage taking its toll now, Ive had to remove quite a bit of leaf (which I probably wouldve done anyway) but not much to be done about it at this point - cant raise the light or spray anything.

Theyve both developed a potent smell now (stinkin up the whole place when I open the tents) And maybe thats due to late stage stress encouraging trichs/resin production?
Mightve happened anways...

Looks like Ill have a good amount of purpley, frosty bud - and maybe a couple autoflower seeds if Im lucky.

Bummer Dan lookin to finish up sooner than I thought.

I took some shots from buds around the crown, seeing a strange mix of trichs. Still some clear, but alot of milky and even some amber showin already.

Slippery Dan is taking his time, still partly white pistils and mostly clear trichs.
I wonder if its a strain thing or conditions? Probably strain.
Lookin good though. Ill check again in a few days and get some closeups.

Close ups of Slippery.
Gettin cloudy, but still alot of clear - especially down low on the plant.

20260205 081526

20260205 081541

Which is not ideal because its upper leaves are really getting cooked - close as it is to the light.
20260205 090731

Hard to tell if the seeds are done - they look pretty big, but still green on the outside. Ill probably wait until I can see some browning of the pods just to be sure.

Most of the seeds are at least a little brownish - a few still green, but I dont think im gonna wait on all of them.

Besides I was high and impatient the other day and already started some feminized Strawberry Cough seeds, so these plants will have to GTFO soon. Im excited to try them in soil - i tried them in a hydro setup (they looked amazing) but failed in flower.

I even have a bit of pollen left over from the summer, I could make some more weird seeds.
