So envious of all your flowers, we'll be there soon too. About a month away.
And I have to go get some tomato plants too!
We’re about there! Soil temps are Creeping up! Got a couple red strawberries already : )

Got tomato plants in the ground yesterday, finally. Already have to replace two. I mixed in some fish meal along with some kelp and bone meal and a racoon dug up two plants looking for the fish. At least he figured it out after just two plants and didn't dig up all 14. A few pics from around the yard. My Comfrey is getting big enough i can harvest enough leaves for some fpj this week. Already have tomatoes. And the bag tomatoes are doing well. We needed to restock on row foods so the bags seemed like a good way to free up sq ft and easier to manage water wise.

And her wild rose "Rosa arkansana" some call it Prarie Rose (we “rescued” it from a vacant house) and other rose. The White Rose of Sharon will be setting blossoms soon. This one is at the front gate.

I was born and raised up yonder and I remember hitting 50 degrees and putting on shorts just to put on the winter parka two hours later. I don't miss it.

Thx. Those are green beans, we need about 35-40 qts, which I think we'll hit easy. And potato and corn.

Yep, temp got down to 40 last night and without the wind there would've been frost. Just started another 2 flats of tall zinnias, state fair, for some reason the Benary's Giants from Johnny's didn't do well inside. Now that I think about it, it might have been the peat pellets they didn't like. hmmm

Wife did Zinnias two years ago but hasn't since. I'm not sure why not. 🤷‍♂️

The vines are Trumpet vine and Coral honeysuckle. Both are native to eastern US and a favorite of bees, hummingbirds and other pollinators. The purple flowers are Hairy Vetch which were in a cover crop mix i sowed last year.
My clover and vetch didn't take this year out in the front pasture. I don't know why other than I broadcast too late.

Some flower/veggie updates! : ) wife and kids worked really hard with me on the new section of garden. Awesome family time! Proud of the littles for really getting in there and being apart of it. The littlest little is becoming quite particular 😆 and i love it! : )

That's awesome. I learned to garden from my dad when I could barely walk and passed it on to my daughter. Enjoy it, they grow up so fast.

First 9-10 qts of green beans. About four more times will do the trick.

And Tomato Row(s).
Found a good soldier bug while in the bean patch. That makes me happy it’s in there patrolling. Especially if there are more.

Guessed that one about right. 9.5 Qts. We’ll cook the 1/2 qt for dinner. The rest are cleaned and vacuumed for the freezer.
