Merry Christmas

Merry christmas! I was wondering if anyone had any input. I found droplets on my bubbleicious when I was trimming, these droplets were clear and hanging from calyx's, it was strong resiny smelling, and sticky to the touch, but when I tasted it, it was sweet like sugar, Once agian, there wasn't an open damaged part of the plant either for anything to drip through.

Hey fractall-

Since your females are searching for pollen, they will produce resin to capture it. This may be just a overproduction of resin.

Are you growing in soil or hydro? My experience with hydro is that it makes your plants transpire more than in soil.

As long as there is no visible damage to the plant, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Hope this helps.

I have run into the same thing on some masterkush and the erkle...not sure if the plant is just sooo juiced that it oozes pure cannabis, or if near harvest they decide to do that if they are perfectly happy...its wild to see and taste!!! Any pics to share?

i think it comes from the increase use of carbs and sugars

Right on, thanks for the replies gentlemen. I grow in soilless sunshine mix 4,
Plants are way healthy, it could be from the extra sweating of the plant, they are in flush cycle. It is a very sweet nectar tasting substance with no color. I wasn't able to take pics, I did hang the one bud that had the most in a location I could keep an eye on it, to tell if the fluid evaporates or dries as a sap like substance, I am really intrigued by this actually, I wonder if there is any medical, nutritional, or psychoactive value to this substance, I anything it tastes waay good. It taste just like my plant smells, grape kool aid and bubble gum.

P.S I have two more of the same strain to cut down, I will see if they show the same characteristic, and hopefully get pics.

I think you may be right, but why would increased carbs cause the bud to seep?
Hey Fractal do you flush with sugars? if so, for how long and what sugars do you use? I tend to flush with organic maple syrup or molasses but only for the first one or two flushes. I have tried using the sugar throughout the whole flush and I thought that the nugs tasted a little too sweet, and burned oddly. I think that when I saw this seepage was when I was flushing with molasses straight through.
As a side note: I heard recently that sugars should be discontinued one week before flush to avoid the herb that tends to be harsh and burn hot. Anyone want to chime in here about what they have found with sugar usage? I am still looking for the best way to incorporate good organic sugars...i have tried several ways and am happy for the most part, but am always interested to hear what other folks have had success with.

all my plants get compost tea and then water and then molasses & surge the last 3 weeks is gust water and no watering the last 4 to 7 days and then put it in a dark room for 2 days . thin harvest . i think when the in the 1st dark day if u give theme cold water it seems to give theme more Cristals

I only use molasses in my Actively Aerated Compost Tea (AACT) during the veg. cycle.

Sugars are only beneficial to feed bacteria . When trying to produce buds, you should cut back/off on sugars (to lower bacteria) and add more Humic Acid to increase fungal development. A high fungal colony helps uptake Phos. Good for fruits and flowers.

I'm afraid most of the information about sugars helping to increase bud size and sweetness is unconfirmed rumors. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this.

This is based on my experience with organic soil, and my limited soil microbiology knowledge. YMMV.

outdoor farmer - When you say surge, are you talking about the soda? Or is this some type of amendment I am unfamiliar with?

I have witnessed this before also...hmmmm.....I dismissed it the first time

I am very curious now

I do not flush with sugars, at all. I flush straight water, I was able to pull a pic, but farmer upload doesn't work well for me, I also found a bigger droplet of it off the cola, and I went to touch it expecting it to stick to my finger, it was dry as a semi hard honey consistency, I was able to pull it off, it kinda held shape and I have it saved, I wonder if its enough to get tested in a lab? little smaller then a bb size piece, and it is a amber orange brown color, now. not clear. Its only on my bubblicious which only my semi most resiny plant.
