Got a plant a little far from harvest but I figured it couldn’t hurt to be prepared
So my plan was to hang whole my plant filling a 2x4
And dry it at 60F and 60RH
Then trim it nicely and put it into jars
Im just a beginner when it comes to curing
so anything that includes drying and curing...
10 Days of Drying and my moisture meter wasn't reading anything so I decide to bag my buds. Put them in a Grove Bag with a cheap humidity and it's reading around 50% after a few days. Did I dry too long? Also this was my first time using a machine trimmer. Did I trim too much?
Due to the tropical climate (Hawaii) and no AC I am drying in a wine cooler and so far so good. I have some popcorn tester nugs in a jar to check RH. My room temp is about a comfortable 80-82 during the day and can go down to about 77 at night. Is 82 too high for curing or is it ok as long as...
1. How much longer until cut ?
2. Should I be flushing just straight 6.5 ph water for these last weeks instead of feed ?
3. Any tips you can give for the next couple weeks whether it’s the harvesting/trimming/drying/curing.
I appreciate anyone taking the time out to help , thank you very much.
The growing and harvesting part is a skill set and drying and curing is another beast of a skillet set. I’m finding the drying and curing is the more difficult of the two to achieve good taste and less hey smell.
I have some preliminary results on the towelling method here.

Hi everyone!
I'm using this talk as a reference for drying (it's on youtube): Allison Justice, PhD presents "The Science of Drying and Curing" at CannMed 2022.

Ive noticed over the years that the better calculated you are with the drying the less thought you have to put into the curing. If you over dry or under dry then you will be constantly fussing with the curing process to make up for shortfalls in the drying process.
Which all goes back to...
I just chopped down my mimosa plants. Drying some with branches hanging and some in mesh dryer. South Dakota legal grow. Able to have temps down and humidity good but looking for advice on drying/curing my small jugs or all of them! Thanks!!!
When we harvest, we cut the stems to roughly 6-inch lengths and put them in the drying tent for a week to 10 days. Then we move them to Grove bags for 4- to 6-weeks and store them in a dark cabinet. Sometimes we trim after drying and sometimes we trim after curing.
