My dry room is inside my 4x4 tent. I'm trying to replicate the cannatrol temps and humidity.
Room is at a constant 68f, 57% humidity this entire dry.
Small oscillating fan pointed at floor, intake exhaust hose at bottom left, exhaust fan running on low, top right.
I'm trying things a little...
In coco, pot size isn't as big of an issue as soil. As long as the EC and PPM are being kept consistent in the root zone the plant will thrive.(ie- that's why some people water 4x per day, to keep substrate from drying out and causing salt build up - refreshing the ec and ppm in the root zone)...
In my honest opinion I would repot into 3 gal with 100% coco mix from canna coco or mother earth coco.
You are watering too much for those size of plants and containers. Lower down to 1x per day. Watering at 3x frequency doesn't really need to be done until they are large plants in full flower...
The whole point of coco is to get explosive growth like hydro. Coco retains around %10 oxygen even when 100% saturated. For best results keep coco saturated 90-100% at all times once root zone is established enough.
There is a reason hydro is so popular, for its fast vigorous growth and bud...
Once roots are established in the medium you will want to water everyday to 10-15% runoff the entire grow. As plants grow larger your amount of water you use will increase, but still needs every day watering.
The clawing is from too much nitrogen. The discoloration looks like a very subtle start of a magnesium deficiency.
Would help if you included what medium you are growing in, room temperature and humidity.
You can try bumping your ph up to 6 to allow that calcium and magnesium to be better...
Sorry... 4 years late to the party lol. Final dry weight was 14 oz from 2 plants under a 315w cmh. I forgot this website existed until I started growing again a month ago. I was actually running into the same problem as before... was treating the coco more like soil and plants weren't 100%...
Makes sense. One of the most knowledgeable growers I’ve learned from did it professional horticulture for 30+ years and preaches the same thing. That the plant needs nitrogen and a balanced npk the whole time. He said the leaves are what produce the energy for bud so to not worry about...
Ok cool thanks for info! Yes I recently started using 1g Epsom salt so that makes sense actually bc before they didn’t change much with this just micro and bloom and calmag . Thanks again
Hi thanks everyone for all the great information you continue to share!!
I am confused about mixing nutrients and the ppm/ec readings I get in return.
am I supposed to go off the fresh mix ec reading or the mix that sits for a while reading?
for example when I freshly mix my nutes and test it...
In week 7 of 10 of flower. Wondering when to flush or should I just lower the ppm to 2-300? Also should I completely drop the N in this stage? Using 3ml micro with 8ml bloom per gallon, 1.5g Epsom salt, and 5ml cal mag.
I did drop originally to using only bloom and Epsom and cal mag but...
My first coco grow gave me very healthy happy plants. Used h3ads formula with General hydroponics fertilizers. The formula is very simple with no additives and it’s specific for coco. Use ro water, use 6ml micro per gallon, and 9ml bloom per gallon. 1 gram Epsom salt per gallon. I...
Awesome thank you!! I moved the lights up some more and will definitely continue with that 400ppm and make sure I give it a good watering. My first time in coco so the whole salt build up thing kind of scares me. Thanks again for the insight and pictures.
I know the brown tips are nute burn. I was more worried about the tip curling up and the leaf folding canoeing/tacoing. But as @THCMonster pointed out in his picture of his beautiful colas that it’s normal.
Hi my plant is overall healthy but recently noticed the leaf tips are curling up. Is this from nutrient burn? Or start of a lockout/deficiency?
Growing in coco. Using h3ads method 6/9 micro/bloom with ro water. Ec 1.6, ppm 700-800. Watering daily till 20% runoff. In a 4x4 tent with...
