    I would avoid anything with moisture control, weed likes a soil that drains well and in soil the soak--dry cycle is really important to avoid problems, even outdoors you want to avoid clay soils because the roots sitting in wet is bad for them.

    no you want to keep 12/12 time schedule you can gradually increase light intensity by turning up or moving closer, 650 to 900 par is about where you want to end up.
