i always get the most roots the fastest when i use promix bx and just plain old 16 ounce party cups. once i germinate them and put them in promix it usually only takes a day before they pop up through the top of the dirt.

i use 2 ft. t5's they use 23 watts each and give off 2000 lumens each. also they are 6500k. they can also be switched with 3000k red bulbs for flowering. t5's (technically a cfl btw) are the way to go if you want the most bang for your buck.
