    Yes, that.

Leaves curling upwards in young plants?

If you live in Texas, why not try a water cooler? There is a real name for them, but I can't think of what it is right now. It would help both with your temp and humidity problems. I know they use them in houses in AZ in the dessert. It would work just as well in Texas. We used to use them for...

    Aloe, Coconut Water, Malted Barley

Don't know if it's any better or would even matter to the plant really? I'm just thinking it would be cheaper and easier. Aloe plants heal pretty quickly and they're easy to grow. I keep one next to my grow for cloning and those odd times I burn myself on a light (because I'm clumsy...). It's a...

    Aloe, Coconut Water, Malted Barley

So I'm curious, why not just cut off some aloe and squeeze it into your tea? Wouldn't that be cheaper, easier, and fresher then aloe flakes?

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

I'm pretty comfortable with both options honestly. I've looked at similar transformers in the past. I'd personally go with the transformer just because the garden hose solenoids I've looked at and have saved in my wish list are not pre-wired. The other iot device would work great for a pump. I...

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

Me to. That's why I'm making Herb Journey for people - to help with those kinds of things. @Ignignokt I was thinking more of a 30 minute sample time for general data logging. You're controlling co2 levels with your setup and not only monitoring. I can understand why you wouldn't want a 30...

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

I haven't played with i2c much. And you're right, life is to short. Unless you think you couldn't get a reliable reading once every 30ish minutes, I'd just go straight to the arduino. You can get a zero (maybe someday) and an arduino for maybe $15ish? That's to cheap to pass up for reliability...

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

That makes sense. I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to buy external sensors for the pi or just the device and interface it with the pi? The easy of connecting this thing up seems easy enough. I think I would also prefer to dump the data to a SQL DB. That would make presentation easier...

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

Still not awake, but I'm seeing where you are pulling the info now. I'm not completely understanding the assignment though. Can you explain how the assignment is working? declare -i sample=`echo $val1 | sed -e 's/C//' -e 's/ppm//'`; I'm getting that you're assigning an int value to sample...

Technologists That Build Their Own Systems

That looks really interesting I'm going to have to come back and take a look at it again later or tomorrow. I'm not seeing how you're pulling data from the handheld scanner. I'm also really tired, just woke up, and only got a few hours of sleeps thanks to my catholes... I'm currently dumping...

Will those yellow sticky papers attract lady bugs too? Probably a silly question but I'm honestly not sure.

Update To A Tech Thread I Created A Couple Weeks Back, Made A Garden Journal Web App

Lol, no. Though, that would be a good idea to add for outdoor growers. I have no idea how to make that private and anonymous at the moment. The name 'Garden Tracker' is rather piss poor. I'm looking for suggestions to rename it. It's more of a garden journal or log.

    Are These Fruin Flies?

Don't mean to thread jack, but how do you check the roots in a soil grow without disturbing and damaging the roots? Are you just looking at the top soil or bushing a bit off the top?

Update To A Tech Thread I Created A Couple Weeks Back, Made A Garden Journal Web App

So, I posted about this a couple of weeks back in another thread. I started making a web app to track garden grows. I'm trying to make it a bit more universal to make it suitable for all types of gardens. I've made some more progress on it. I'm close to considering it beta and start adding more...
