How to tell when to harvest if you don't have a loupe, or Don't rely solely on trichomes

With 2 grows under my belt using organic soil, I thought I knew when to harvest, but these last two grows (of the same strain) were different. 10 weeks was not enough so I went 12 weeks and still no amber trichomes. I even let one go 13 weeks, but no change. So I used alternative methods...

How to tell when to harvest if you don't have a loupe, or Don't rely solely on trichomes

It's funny, last year my first soil crop took exactly 10 weeks and trichomes turned amber by that time. This year I switch to a mostly coco 60/40 mix, but 12 weeks later no amber trichomes and hairs stopped growing so I pulled them. Now I have to test to see if there are any differences in the...

    Ocean Forest 2nd opinion

Unfortunately I like to root clones hydroponically, but then transpotting in soil is a problem the first week with fertilizer burn on sensitive roots. First I tried peat, but I found too many dry pockets trying not to over water. Coco seems to have solved my problem in the first trans-potting to...

    Ocean Forest 2nd opinion

Yes, overwatering a common problem, but using a coco mix solves that problem. I've heard lots of good things on Ocean Forest Mix, but I'm still experimenting with a coco/perlite mix during veg and organic soil/coco mix during bloom.

    Ocean Forest 2nd opinion

All very good points with different soils, but once you get good at it you'll find the right mix for yourself. I have a big problem with FF Happy Frog because I don't think you should be paying for so many rocks. In previous post I included a pic of the rocks I sifted from less than 1/2 bag of...

CBD Strains - Harlequin, Charlotte's Web, etc.

I prefer the west coast version of high CBD strains with low THC- ACDC. Most use it to make tinctures, but I also smoke it sometimes. I'm now looking for critical jack if anyone knows where I can get some flower or clones in the Sacramento area.

    Co2 Controller

Begun researching co2 controllers and noticed big price swings. Having a small grow I don't know if I need the additional cost to know the exact co2 level at all time. I could calculate the sf - x the desired level of 1500 pp - and then using the recycle timer for on/off daytime. Has anyone used...

Better safe then sorry. Just ask the multi-million $$ Vermont utility company about embedded code. I'm not a programmer, but I listen to the news and other computer security experts.

Well, when my browser the open source browser- Firefox 50.1.0, (I'm sure internet explorer opens it right up) won't even let me open a page on that site and this is the first time it's ever done that, I become uneasy with all the hacking going on out there. It's just like when I get an email...

Vpd (vapor Pressure Deficit) What It Means To My Plants

Very good info for understanding these common occurrences in plant development. It's the reason why I sometimes need to water more with low RH and water much less when the humidity is high.

Leaves Curling Down When Co2 On?

Does that make sense? I try to keep my RH below 60%, the chart shows my ideal temp should be 59-72 degrees. I routinely keep my temps 74-76 degrees and 59-35% RH without co2. That would mean with co2 my temps should go down, not up? With increased growth plants will use more fert, water and...

    DIY Co2?

Does anyone have an idea how 1500 ppm co2 will affect any pests in your garden? I'm hoping it will either help control, reduce or eliminate them. Appreciate any past experiences.

Bayer Monsanto Merger Will Steal The Marijuana Industry

Just yesterday my neighbors daughter (3) began having seizures and is in the hospital to find out why. If they are unable to control without heavy medications her only healthy alternative is Cannabis. Fortunately she'll have me as her CBD connection, if it is necessary. I've been converting my...
