I decided to start a journal here detailing my first grow. I've journaled the start on RIU for anyone wanting to see the previous systems and the veg time. Today is 13days into flower, I ended up with 2 phenos of C99, the shorter one is 14" and is Bec-Bec, the taller and 10day younger one is Kitty and she's 25". The system uses a manifold to spray the roots suspended above the water line and helps keep the nute solution aerated so no airstone needed. Nutes being used are Liquid Karma, Mayan Microzyme for beneficials and Pure Blend Pro Bloom that I plan to change to CNS17 Bloom once the free stuff runs out. I'm at 850ppm and 6 pH as of yesterday. I also made a little bubble cloner under my TV but no successful clones out of it yet.

Day 15:

Week 2 of flowering comes to a close. PPM's are about 870, ph 6, Bec-Bec is still about 15in. Kitty is now about 30in and growing fast. I have 2 cuttings of each in the cloner along with 1 of Bob I'm trying to save but hasn't rooted yet. I went for clones 10-14in long to reduce veg time to hopefully 1 week or less.

*3rd pic is Bec-Bec up close to show what's going on inside the bush. Pretty compact spacing on this shorty.

Day 17:

Bec-Bec stands about 16in, Kitty is 33.5in. PPMs 875, pH 6. I'm liking how short and compact Bec-Bec is, though Kitty may fill out into a beast so we'll see! :bongsmi:

That clear bubbler is a problem waiting to happen! Light in your rez will cause nothing but grief and eventually death.

Looking fwd to seeing JW's C99.

Thanks, and welcome!

I know the cloner isn't ideal, it's a temporary solution really. I'm banking on straight tap + a little H2O2, low lumens and aeration is enough to keep baddies at bay enough for clones to successfully root, we'll see on this.

Day 18:

PPM 875, pH 6. I was going to defoliate today since the girls are crowding each other a little bit, but I chickened out. Instead I did some folding and tucking so all the budsites are getting first crack at the light and the fan leaves get to live on the leftover light. Kitty is 3ft now, as a leggy girl she's already done the Dr. Octopus thing with her budsites and fan leaves and was already well spread so most the tucking happened where the 2 girls meet. I made a slight addition to the cloner, added the fogger I had laying around. Theres a collar shoved over the fogger to cut down on the spray and fog that soaked the cabinet. I'm leaving the fogger in there mostly to heat up the water which was pretty cold, and to kill microbes in the water, the light fog over the water surface may help but it would be tangent to why it's in there right now.

I wasn't satisfied with my tuck job, so I trained Kitty's long branches into the canopy near the light.

Day 21:

Week 3 draws to a close, Bec-Bec stands approx 20", Kitty at 40" and slowed vertical growth in the last day. Added 80ml Liquid Karma to res on day 18 which brought res to approx 950ppm, ppm and pH both fairly stable, very slight ppm creep up as the plants drink. Pistils are starting to pack in on the buds and some trichs forming. Hopefully stretch is done and we'll see buds growing this week.

I did an inventory of what's been put in my res since the last res change on 8-19:

Approx 25 gal H20 total
20ml Mayan Microzyme
150ml Sweet
150ml Liquid Karma
160ml Pure Blend Pro Bloom
60ml GH Flora Micro
120ml GH Flora Bloom

Thanks for dropping by! I'm crossing my fingers for a nice pheno... I'm also planning on starting a few beans in the meantime, was thinking Reserva Privida OG Kush #18 or Headband and roll the dice on a TGA strain like Vortex or maybe Qrazy Train or Cheese Quake hard to choose. I continue to watch the cloner, so far not seeing baddies take over but I had to turn the fogger off for a while, the res was climbing to lukewarm temps. I've heard 80 degrees is good in cloning, anyone have better experience with warm vs. cold cloner water?

Im currently growing out C99 myself under a 400W. Brilliant smoke & high youll definitely enjoy it. Keep us know how much GPW it pulls out.

I've heard so many good things about Cindy, totally counting the days! It was really nice C99 shows sex in veg, made things easy. I've also had little trouble with this strain after getting things dialed in on my res, she isn't too nute hungry either. I got the Mayan Microzyme to help with the root rot I got in seedling stage... it also balanced out my res pretty well, very stable pH and not a res change in over a month. I think the nitrogen fixers are also helping lower the nute demands on my plants but I can't say that definitively.

Day 23:

Bec-Bec still about 20in., Kitty grew 1in to 41in. Ppm approx 975 ph approx 6. Things seem to be trucking along. I did some trimming the other day as the fan leaves were getting too out of control to tuck and there are a bunch of budsites fighting for light. I still tried to leave fan leaves that were along the light boundries or weren't in the way so it still looks like chaos. It's fun checking the plants now since every day they fill out a little more and I can see trichs starting to form everywhere. I do have some leaf clawing on top of Kitty, not sure what that's about, no heat problems there.

Day 25:

PPms 980 pH approx 6. It's great how stable my res has been. I've been waiting to journal a post where I've ph corrected but I haven't had the need to. My ph naturally stays around 6-6.2 so I leave it there to keep the bennies in the Mayan Microzyme happy and they can handle the uptake of minerals not absorbed as well at 6.2 pH. It's hard to qualify effects of this MMZ since it's my first grow, but seeing as nutes seem to stretch far per my inventory and I have big healthy rootballs with no res changes ph corrections air stones or chillers (ambient air temps keep res 68-72F) it appears the bennies in MMZ are working as advertised.

*EDIT: Forgot, Kitty grew to 42.5in today... I'm renaming her 'Big Cat'

Day 26:

Ppm 1020 pH 6. Water level is getting low, will have to top up Saturday. Big Kat is now 43in, Bec-Bec still 20in. Buds continue to grow and the few trichs thats started showing last week are now turning into a light layer of yummy frost. Apologies in advance for the poor photography. The last pic is of the top of Big Kat that still has the canoeing leaves, other then that the plants look pretty happy.

So the general consensus is Big Kat is showing N excess at the top, I have to agree, they are also pretty dark green. My ppms went up to 1200 as the water level in the res fell, I added 4 phed gallons today which brought it back to 800. Whats crazy to me is I've used 5ml/gal Pure Blend Pro Bloom in the last 6 weeks along with suppliments like Liquid Karma and sweet. I monitor daily looking for defs so I can add more nutes, but they just never showed any. I think the Mayan Microzyme is stretching my nutes pretty far, I look forward to seeing what my weights end up at a 50 day harvest.

Day 47:

Chop's coming soon. Sampled a bit, can't wait for the finished product! Gonna chop and transplant into hempys to reveg and get my new batch going. I got 3 Qrazy Train and the freebies from Attitude Blueberry Gum, Kandy Kush, Pineapple Express and Sour Cream. They are at day 8 in coco and look happy.

Joeys Weed is some good smoke. I ran Blue Apollo and Sugarberry for a year with good luck.
Your buds looked nice and frosty!

If I can give you some advice...
Give each plant its own container and start them off in a smaller pot @ first. This avoids problems of root rot, uneven root distribution ect...

If you are still going to run a dwc in the future, switch to benneficial bacteria and an oraganic line. The bennies will kill any bad bacteria and help in the break down of food for the plants. If you buy Great White, it contains lots of bennies and anti fungus spores to help. Use it in coco too for awesome results!!!
The best part is, you can ditch the h2o2 which is a harmful powerful oxidizer.

Thanks for the advice. I'm innoculating with Mayan Microzyme right now. I'm using Promix in the hempys im making so I have mycos covered and I can use the MMZ but I got a free pint of Quantum-1 which is a solution of soil microbes in humic so I'm going to give it a shot. Here's some snaps from today of the C99 girls.

Fantastic! I have noticed that joeys pheono's can be very dominate. For lack of better terms, your plants assume slightly the characteristics seen in the blue apollo and sugarberry. His blueberry is a very dominate strain being DJ shorts original I believe.

What are your nighttime temps @ ?
