Sounds llike its just the strain man..
yeah without pics it's kinda hard to tell......but i agree it was probably the intensity of the lights not being enough...nutrients are more designed for taste in my opinion...the whole organic vs. chem nutes i think the same results can be achieved either way just find something that works for you and stick to it....also don't buy into all the gimmicks and buy this and buy that to increase flavor and yields get to know what your working with...i learned the hard way switching from this to that every grow...
What strains?? Some are destined to be that way...I've also had this problem (presumably) caused by a light leak as well.
My buddy has been getting very airy and non dense buds. We think his is cause of the strain but couldn't figure it out 100%.
What kind of lighting? what strain? and how long did you let it go?
Density could have to do with strain or light intensity.
Im thinking that you did not let the plants go long nuff. I grew green crack and sure your could pull at 45 days, but 60+ is still better. I'm thinking your concept of "harvest window" is a little early :)
Also, what bloom boosters are you using? A full nute regime is a must for top shelf buds...

whatever grower gives you the "window of harvest".. that's in their experience or what they've been told before.. it doesn't mean your plant will be ready the exact same time. Depends on so many factors, but the bottomline is i usually dont even start checking for amber trichs until the buds start feeling kinda rock hard and dense. Most strains really start filling out in their last 2 weeks or so anyway. Perfect example is some people say to pull og's at around day 70.. well i ran my julius ceasar from cali connect to about day 83-84 and it probably still could have gone longer.. didn't see much amber but boy was it dense :) I've had this problem with other strains too not finishing on the time the breeder suggests.. so really you have to just play it by eye and gut instinct and not by the days.
my 2 cents.
temp and strains some dense some airy buds still good .some of my best are airy
AGREED!!!^ Nuff said:mad0233:
The green crack looks early. I have one at 50 days now and it's definitely not done yet. I run almost everything passed the breeders recommended window by a week.
The others heat or not enough light. Assuming you have actual good strains. I have one I've ran a few times, even with perfect temps, hydro, high ppm nutes, light 6" away, it still doesn't pack on the density.
How far away was your light?
AK47 stretched to over 7' in our 6'7" tent and we had to tie her down... :(
:)
That would be a big part of the problem, light can't penetrate though 7ft of plant, only 1 or 2 ft really. Tie them down early next time to get yourself an even canopy, or hang the bulb vertical and grow around it to use all that vertical height you have.
high temps..If the room is 85 you can bet leaf temps are a little more...Temps can't be reduced try co2...
Not to bad for your first run..It always gets better...
