Week #1 Flowering!!! Popping the Cherry, 1st 12/12!
Got the Week #1 flowering update for all of you sticky growers out there! If you've been following the thread, this is my 1st time growing the good stuff for myself, and just got my 400W HPS installed and began 12/12!

So, it's up in the closet now...really quick install, just some toggle bolts and hangers did the trick. The light came with these EZ rollers and they are working great and make it really easy to raise and lower it. Cleaned up the wiring a bit, un-installed my CFL build and have 'em hanging on the wall for future vegging. I also secured, mounted, and tied back all my electrical and tried to keep off the ground what I could. All the pics will follow in case you guys were wondering!!!
My other project I began was topping. I left Selina alone and turned my knife on her younger sister. Holly got whacked in the name of science. It's been a week since the surgery and her arms are growing like crazy! She's going to have two nice main colas now to show off! Selina is my sweetie so I couldn't put the blade to her but she is filling out perfectly, really tight nodes and lots of growth. :character0180:
I've had a couple of Q's/comments on trapping the light in the closet. I am mostly concerned with keeping light out of the closet now that I am flowering but the solution I have does that and a little of the other. There are two hooks mounted on the inside of the wall above the door. To this I attached a metal rod then hung a black-out curtain with the black side facing outwards. On the wall I mounted velcro strips so that I could secure the curtain flush to the wall. The inside of the curtain is a bright white material that is actually pretty reflective (you light-trapping villains could put mylar over this) and the outside claims to block 99.5% of light from entering...it does block A LOT of light.
Now, for the girls. Selina is an absolute goddess of green-envy love on rollerskates in a mini skirt!!! Lovely plant...nice foliage, good color, strong core, and tight tight nodes. I swear, it's porn to look at her. Her younger sisters, Holly and Jazmine, are a funky duo. Holly's a bit leggy with leaf freckles. Jazmine grows like a retarded midget on stilts...weird plant. If you guys are really interested I can send more detailed pics if she doesn't break my camera doing so...
Yeah, that's where we stand brahs!!! Started 12/12 the night I put the light in and they are growing way faster under this light than with the CFL's. Q!!!: Should I wait a week or two to give first dose of my flowering nutes?!?! I've been growing in a derivative of SuperSoil with stuff I could find so haven't fertilized them at all yet, but have Nova Flora Bloom sitting in the closet waiting to be put to use. I'm thinking I should wait a week first so that the girls can get used to the new rays?

Looks good man, you're gonna notice a huge difference with that 400w. How're the temps/rh in that closet? and did you end up getting that 4" vortex along with the light?

Thx Triz-Nah man, the Vortex is goin' to be in the works though and still plan on installing it...the temps are up there compared to the flourescent but not as bad as I thought. I have them timed to be on when I am home at night so that I can open the curtain and vent some heat. My 4" fan helps to keep that air moving over the leafs too

New post on the girls coming tonight gents!!! The ugly one, Jazmine, ended up being a cross dresser and moved him back to another room so that he doesn't unleash his spawn on the girls. The other two are showing those little white hairs at the flower nodes so 100% sure they are going to be beautiful young ladies. Very STOKED!!!

Alright dudes, I've had some crazy, archaic, tribal type internet and haven't been able to upload any pics of the grow. SPOILER ALERT: It's done.

I know, crap. Anyways it went great!!! Two of the three ended up being females and Holly has now gone into curing! Selina is hangin up to dry still and she will be getting the jar cure here in a few days. So, now this is still slightly wet weight and stems still a little long, but Holly weighed in at 147 grams after cutting her up...not too damn bad for my first plant ever.
I will start getting the pics up for you guys, starting with week nine of flower then I'll follow it up with cutting both Holly and Selina down for harvest. Had so much fun on this adventure, I've got to also get you guys a diary I wrote about the first grow posted up.
Anyways, leave you all with some pics of Week #9 flower!:banana:

Shit...Let's Keep This Rollin'
Okay...so here we go ladies and gents!!! Holly frosted up first and she was ready to lose her legs once she hit the week nine mark. Didn't have a scope so just gauged everything off of her hairs being about 60% amber. As you guys can see she almost outgrew my space and I had to push her two main colas around the light to keep them from burning, if I knew anything about her strain before this run I would have trimmed her more...but as you know, this dank ass weed came from some crushed up Mexican brick weed and I had no idea how it was going to grow :weed-sign:
She grew amazing guys...I can't believe how good she is treating me for giving her a little water and talking to her at night. Maybe that's all our women need...I don't know, but maybe. It's all she needed.
So, to follow are the lovely pics of our beautiful lady of the hour, Holly. To make this moment even more significant, Holly was culled on Christmas night. She was Santa's little present and man was it a trip to cut her down. Holly, you will be missed but God are you wonderful.

Thank you guys again for following along on this journey with me....we now have a new strain to add to the masses-Reindeer Express. I haven't fully cured her yet, but with a quick dry in the microwave this girl was still a two-toker. She has a piney funk smell and her smoke goes down with a barbecue spice flavor. Can't wait for the full cure but have about 2 1/2 weeks left on that.
Absolutely fantastic high that to me was a cross of white widow and cole train. Damn good dank ass weed for a first timer man! I've been smoking some of the best lately but this stuff was already up there on just the trial run.

Culling and Curing Magic Schoolbus
So, I cut Selina down on New Year's Eve...actually my lovely fiancee received the honor of taking her down. She has a perfect smell, kinda honey, fruit, pine-funk and loads of bud crystals! Threw a popcorn bud in the microwave and nuked it for about a min to try her out and the taste comes through sweet with an oily aftertaste. Very good smoke for a quick cure like that and both of us were completely laid out after trimming some of her larger leaves. Going to keep this short, haven't had much action on the thread lately but leave me your comments and stay tuned for my Dutch Passion Run that is currently under construction (Jorge's Diamonds, Euforia, and Branistorm).
