P.S. - Just starting my flush myself. Been running 11/13 for that last wk. I'll probably switch to MH & run it at 75% power (waiting on the MH bulb). I know people raise their lights but I'm out of space (ergo the 75% power). Also, my wife will be taking care of them and ... well let's just say I don't want temps to hit 87 like they did last wk b/c someone didn't turn on the ac. Insurance for my girls.
Considering trying the 10/14. My resin coverage is already good & not really worried about losing some fraction of weight. Seems like it may be a worthy experiment.
Hey Hiphop quick tip, careful on that Fox Farm Grow Big. GB tends to be strong IME Also don't use it to close to the end of bloom with soil. Seems to not leach out well at flush time. Are you hand watering? I'm thinking yes. I have also found that Ocean Forest needs perlite added since it holds so much moisture. Have you considered a coco based mix? I've been using the Sunshine Advanced #4(yellow bag) with good results. With an inert medium you have control with what gets put in and what gets taken out better, more control. Just a thought. If you do try coco I recommend using the FFGB hydro, also a bit strong. I think I used half of the recommended on the feed chart. Oh and I used the hydro side of the feed chart with coco. Sorry pretty ripped :)
Cheers,
Crom
Here's a link to help others find what's in their local tap water.
Hiphop your local water has 24 ppm calcium, and 4.3 ppm magnesium. The pH out of the tap is 7.85. You also have 17 ppm silica and 1.75 ppm potassium.

When do you switch back to MH? Isn't HPS better? Do you also do the "3 day trick"?
Hey guys new to this website read this whole thread so far noticed some of you were posting as I read some of this. I have about 4 weeks tops left on some Medical. Was thinking about a light cycle change toward the end I guess i have a couple more weeks to mull it over. Anyway my set up is a 1000 watt HID I use a 6rpm light mover and flower 16 to 18 plants a run. Anyone change up the cycle on the end with this strain and if so what were the results. A couple pics to eyeball.
It that the PPM per gallon??
I don't think this matters. 10 ppm is 10 ppm. If you wanted to get something to 10 ppm you add whatever till it hits 10 ppm. Kinda like what weighs more a ton of feather or a ton of bricks?
One part per million (ppm) denotes one part per 1,000,000 parts, one part in 106, and a value of 1 × 10−6. This is equivalent to one drop of water diluted into 50 liters (roughly the fuel tank capacity of a compact car), or about 32 seconds out of a year.
So one part out of every million parts, in anything, is X. Make sense? So I guess that is per G, as it would be for a teaspoon, tablespoon, etc...
People usually switch back to MH around the last 2-3 weeks. I do MH the last 2 weeks. That... in my opinion.. also gets the buds more frosty. I think the blue spectrum of the metal halide is the best for plant growth. The only reason why I even use HPS is because it puts out way more light then the MH. And more light, means bigger buds. So I use the HPS to fatten everything up, then the MH for the finishing touches.
I know some growers that only use MH and never screw in a HPS bulb. Then there's others that use nothing but HPS. Even for veg.
If you read a lot, you'll hear that HPS makes plants stretch and MH keeps them short and compact. This is another thing that I take with a grain of salt. I've vegged with both and so far I dont see any height difference between the 2 bulbs at all. The only time I see a height difference is when Im using my T5's. T5's (florescents) undoubtedly keep plants super short and fat, compared to HPS and MH.
What strain is it?
LoL. Im sorry... can your break that down a little further for me?? lol. jk
My mistake. Not even sure why I asked that question.
I have switched back to the MH bulb for the last week or two in the past it did don't seem to make any difference on that particular strain as I did 2 of that strain back to back same conditions except I didn't swich back to MH bulb on one run. They both weighed out roughly the same and no noticable increase in tric development. Berry white was the strain.
The seed bank just refered to it as Medical MJ.
Didn't know how else to explain it lol
:passingjoint:
The reflection of the MH light over all the trichome covered buds, is just so pretty, that I think I'll keep using the MH since you said you didnt see a difference. Buds under that HPS light are not very delightful to look at when compared to how they look under a MH. Thats reason enough for me. Its visually stimulating. :cool0041:
Never heard of it. What seed bank?
LoL. You broke it down with about 8 different scenarios. Lol. I would have just said... If you have 2 separate gallons of water and each of them are at 10 ppm and you mix the 2 together, the additional gallon of water dilutes the overall mix keeping the PPM the same. You gave me a damn math equation... had to pull out my calculator to figure out what was going on. Lol:confused0059:
