Thinking of doing raised or semi raised beds (half in the ground, half above) when I get my new place.

Does anyone have any experience with hot desert climates and raised beds? Does being above ground let the soil get too warm for happy roots?

Cue up cannabeans' theme song--Welcome to the Jungle.

That's gonna be real fun getting in there as the season progresses.

I realized that as I was stringing up the lines for the climbers....I will spread them out more next year.

I would use a thick layer of straw to cool the roots and to conserve water.

damn thats a garden, and the smells coming outta the herb section must be mind blowing. i see you got yer corn rows in, nice. i waited to long to put my veggies in the ground and the heat fried them, all i have left is corn and jalapenos. i really wanted to go after a winter garden though, i cant keep bugs off my weed and veggies plus work and home stuff so winter garden this year for me.
