Cree 3590’s 3500k. I use it all the way through veg and flower. I do have a dimmer for veg. Can add another COB for 400 watts, but Just haven’t taken it down

Nice. Rigging up something like what you're running was pretty much what I'd imagined when Terpy posted his dumpster gems. As much as I'd love QBs, I'm thinking a DIY CREE setup similar to yours is the direction I'll go when I'm in a better position to do a serious lighting upgrade.

Imo a mix of both would be ideal. That way you get the penetration of the cobs along with the spread of the QBs.

Just got the Bestva 1500w today. Fit, finish & packaging are all excellent. At first glance, after swapping this in for the 1k HPS cool tube in a 4x4 tent, I want to put a second one in. It just seems like the light output isn't quite there to replace a 1k, but my plants are praying to it like they didn't before.

Light 24" above plants. Temps consistently running only 6-7 over ambient measured at light level.

I just pulled 2 sour diesel from soil, have a few in DWC currently in the tent that had been in for just 2 weeks.

I'll post progress pics. I'm planning on building COBs, and thanks to this thread I'll go 3500k rather than the 2700 I had been planning.

Man I have a custom build and it smashes. Highly recommend going with the 3500s.
I use 4 100W COBs 3500k on a meanwell 280 driver I have two of these rigs and I honestly never even lower my lights just decrease the dim amount every week. To answer your original question yes 3500 will be fine veg&flower just make sure you have enough coverage for your area.
