outstanding thread Boom, I have a similar system about to be installed in a month or so and the detail you have provided is priceless, thanks. Also I wanted to mention that I will be vegging in a smaller 8gal UC DIY after a homade aerocloner. If you have the cash I would reccomend another UC for veg, you certainly have the room ;)

take care, stay safe...subscribed

thanks g.
i try to provide as much necessary detail as possible for my own notes and to help others. i like to report on the truth and include the negative issues since its all about learning and growing ur knowledge.
But shoot me a link if u get a journal goin for a build out or growshow. ive learned so much already i wish i could fastfoward to the next round and do all the upgrades.
and about the veg, i would def of bought the real deal UC system for flower and UC for veg, but this industry isnt as kind as others mite think, so im being patient waiting for the crop to reinvest and do the necessary upgrades. Veg will most likely get a 16site 8gal with quad tops for veg. i built the rooms based on CCUCs system measurements. so its all ready for the system layouts. then ill move over my current DIY buckets and do a DWC scion system for the other side of the room. 13gal is better for moms.
for now the 4x8 flood drain tray is working out. roots aren't perfect fuzzy white, but its better results then ive seen in RW so im cool with it for now. beggars cant be choosers. ill do an update soon for more veg info.

Day 37

Busy last two weeks but specs have been;

Bloom Room:
PH @ 5.5-5.8
PPM @ 850-950
Water Temp @ 68*
C02 @ 1500ppm
Room Temp @ 79*-81* 40-55%RH

Veg Room:
PH @ 6.0
PPM @ 550-650
Water Temp @ 68*-70*
Room Temp @ 74*-80* 50-60% RH

Flower Notes:
Raised Lamps again to lower heat stress. A couple weeks ago I noticed foliage damage from the Forbid foliar and since then the fan leaves have been discolored.
3 of the Power kush, & 1 Pre98 Bubba kush, were stunted so bad they dont appear to be performing at all. Im riding it out as experience to see what happens. But my guess was stunting resulted from massive limb removal at one time during my lollipop session. Since the stretch was more then anticipated, i had to continue removing larger branches which could explain why the plants stopped growing. Coupled with the two power kushes on the end, dont seem to be receiving enough lumens and the neighboring PK has overgrown the light footprint.
Aroma started around day 33 and turned on the 100can carbon filter fitted with an Oracle 755cfm 8" inline fan. Most likely will add another can in a week or two.
Some colas seem to be packing on faster then others, one pheno, has bulked out significantly more then any of the others, and of course i didnt take any cuts during veg to keep that pheno. lol. so ill have to live with the other winners. i based most my decisions early on by internode spacing and response to FIM & supercropping. Next judgement will be based on harvest results; CBD/THC% / GPW / & quality.
Trichs have crept out on most leaves and some fans. Most bud hairs are all white, sum have turned orange.

Stopped Roots Excel & Big Bud
Begin DM Zone & Overdrive
Increase Dosage on Heavy16 beta "Prime"
Heavy16 Bud A&B increased to 10ml/gal
Cannazym @ 10ml/gal

Veg Notes:
10'x15' Room
2x 4'x8' flood/drain tray
2x 70gallon reservoir
2x 60 site ez-cloner
4x 600w MH lamps

Transplanted the strongest prevegged Power Kush cuttings; #2, #3, #4, #5, #7, & #11 into larger containers mixed with 50/50 hydroton/rockwool crutons. Im hopin the RW crutons will help keep roots moist with larger plants. Everything is an experiment right now so results should prove interesting.
I also transplanted; 23x Chem Valley Kush & 14x Fire OG kush cuttings from the ezcloner into 6" net pots filled w/ hydroton and placed onto the 4x8 tray. These will be prevegged for 2-3 weeks on the table until im happy with the branching structures & heigth. Then the pots will be put into the 2x 8gal 16site UC systems were in the process of installing inside the bloom room.
Temps are creeping up in the veg room with outside temps getting into the 80-90*s outdoors. Plus i fired on the second 600w MH over the 4x8 tray and theres no AC installed in the veg room yet, so the room is sumthing like 80-83* right now.

Anyways thats enough info for now. Ill keep u guys posted on the upgrades im working on.

trust me brother i know as well as you do that pimping aint easy. good luck getting everything together. i am in the same boat waiting on some cash flo to move on to bigger better stronger faster able to pump out 2 lb plants in a single tub....supergrow

keep the stats coming.

also no offense but i havent read the entire thread yet so you may have already mentioned, but do you kjnow what is causing the severe yellowing in those upper leaves? is it happening to all of your plants? i hope you get that squared away as you learn the system and dial er in. best of luck

heres to a bountiful harvest for all

the yellowing could be a few diff issues, im not able to say what for sure but once the damage is done, theres no goign bak to green.
I talked with a few peeps and most likely it was burn from the Forbid foliar bak in veg with the intense heat from the lamps being too close during the 12/12 stretch. It affected most the taller plants that were closest to the hoods. the lower plants are mostly all green. even look at the pic above of the pre98 bubba, all dark green. but it was shorter then the screen and not nearly as close to the lamps so it didnt get burned.
Im not sure if its part of a deficiency at all but the buds keep stacking on so im not worried til i see the plants not performing.
Next round will be a better experiment once the new room is more dialed and ive had a chance to get thru the learning curves.

It always suprises me when I read a thread that suddenly ends. The weird part is that all sorts of people seem to be following along and nobody says "where did you go? is all good" it's like they all went pm on me...well Mr BL, I hope it's all good.

Upgrades

sorry for the lag guys. i wish i had more time to be posting but in reality doing a commercial warehouse on ur own is pretty time consuming.
heres what happened;

i noticed fungus gnats in the hydroton around week 3, hit them with gognats as top feed and rez feed for the week. added more sticky traps and didnt see many adult gnats flying around so figured the problem was minimized/controlled. as soon as i saw more adult gnats around week 5 i went to greencoast and grabbed more gognats and discussed other prevention methods with my buddy. he mentioned not to use both DM ZONE & GoGnats at the same time... gognats beoing a beneficial bacteria and DM zone being a sterilzier... so the zone eliminated any gognats in my rez and never killed the larvae/eggs that the adult gnats laid. unfortunately i didnt do my nute combination homework enough and learned the hard way.
at week 6-7 plants began showing signs of wilt and all specs were in check. after triple checking every possible troubleshoot; ph, ppms, temps, pumps, air, etc. i talked with a few peeps at greencoast and owner of heavy16. all plants were infected with a pathogen of sum type that causes the wilting in the plants. i researched the name but cant spell it off the top of my head. end result i lost most the crop to the wilting virus since its a recirculating rez, and chopped early to make bubble hash with semi-mature colas.
Fungus gnats lay eggs which hatch as larvae and eat ur roots preventing any new root growth and leaves scars which are gateways to pathogens and virus infections. even having a chiller with water temps @ 65* running DM zone still didnt save the crop. it was a lesson to be learned and i hope this mistake shared prevents any other huge set backs for others.

but now for the good news... i took a week off for vacation, got my head back together, drew up a new gameplan and upgraded the shop to about 70% capacity. in time with a successful crop, ill be able to reinvest for the final systems/lights.
the whole last month ive been clearing out the whole room, taking everything down for cleaning, bleaching walls cielngs, floors, everything... now ive added a few new things to get back on track.

Flower room;

2x 16 site 8gal UC under 8x600w HPS
2x 4'x'8' tray w/ drip to waste feat. 48 plants in 2gal pots & Sunshine #4
-6x 600w HPS will flower out the trays
1x 5ton AC
1x 2ton split AC
2x 70p dehueys

Strains on the menu;
Blackwater
Power Kush
Pre 98 bubba
Fire Og
Chem Valley Kush
Platinum Bubba
Purple Kush

Ive decided to give CCUC equip a try and not be bothered with my own engineering mistakes. this way i can minimize the bullshit ill encounter while experiencing the learning curve of a commercial location. this was my 4th grow ever and seems like each time i learn a drastic lesson. lol.
I like the concept of running a side by side equip trial. everything at this point has been learning and experimenting for me. id like to get everything dialed but its gonna take more time. and money...
the 2x 4x8 trays i ran before but using rockwool cubes and drain to waste feed. this time my homeboy at greencoast (being the organic nut he is) has me wanting to go more organic each time we talk. so i figure i run sum sunshine #4 for now, maybe try out coco on one tray next time and see what i like. over time ill be introducing vermi-t blends fresh from GC and possibly get sumthing a little more custom. the downside with water culture in the UC is its not optimum IMO to run organics. most educated horticulturist ive talked to stress the sterility concept to me all the time when it coems to hydro. so im thinkin this round ill run the UC buckets sterile from the beginning (DM zone w/ no Roots excel or benes)
and compare end results with the 4x8 soil trays.
im goin to run all 600s til i can upgrade to the 1000ws. this will be interesting to see the difference in GPW between UC and 4x8 trays under similar lumen output. these next two runs with this side by side project will be the determining factor what the entire flower room will be dedicated as...
Organic soil... or Sterile UC DWC.

do you got blueprints? id love to have some schematics to set up a 76' refrigerated/climate controlled trailer...what is the width from bucket to bucket?

Try the down under hydrofungicide. Works awesome as preventative measures along with zone

I've ran DM Zone before. Works pretty well with killing all the bacteria, but running a clean sterile system is hard work.

About 3 grows ago, I ran the Zone in my Ebb & Grow system and I ended up getting root aphids that almost took out my entire crop. Ever since then I run beneficial's all the way. I use Great White and Roots Excel. Just recently I started running Rapid Start by GH. My last 2 runs in rockwool and coco mats have been great. Roots stay white, no bugs at all in my root zone, and everything is healthy as hell. I only change out my reservoirs 3 times during a grow. Once for the transition from veg to flowering. Then one more time on week 4 of flowering. I just kick back and let the beneficials and Roots Excel do all the work.

I've heard a lot of bashing on the Great White, because the different types of bacteria in great white, which actually fight each other. Some people say this is a bad thing, but I dont give a shit if they fight to the death or not. That just leaves me with the gangster bacteria that isnt going to take any shit from other organisms. Using GW and Roots Excel hasnt let me down yet. But dont get me wrong.. a sterile system is a great route to take, but if your like me, you dont have a lot of time on your hands to keep everything sparkly clean. On top of that, I hardly go through any nutrients with only 3 res changes per grow.
