Update
6 seeds popped and above ground. Lights at 6200 lux. Last one shedding helmet.
77 degrees .7 vdp
Scripted a 30 minute cool down cycle as the humidity climbs a bit at lights out. Was unable to maintain .7 and I am not going to confuse the controllers by having the Vivosun controller be vdp driven, the update rate is too slow. I just run the fan on 2 for 35 minutes and it keeps it at .7 all the way to 68 f

My plan has not changed
I can not do 6 plants so if I see one lagging or weird I can cull and still have my plan. If all 6 look good I will find a home even if it is a hole along the river.

Update
Looks like I will lose one plant. One of the helmets did not split open properly. It is a seed hull mounted on a 3/4 inch stem. Spraying did not help. Still in tent but when it falls off will pull pot.
Today moved plants from 300 watt easy to the 400 watt panel. The 300 was uneven but lower than the 400 but with all plants viable having 2 colys and 2 regs I moved lux up to 7k. Checked 3 hours in and no changes with the exception of the seedling that was on the edge of the light pattern and had been bending towards it. Everything now looking up.
50ml water and spray close all pots.

Update
Well 7 days and gnats reappeared but so far just a very few. Will look into intrupting the life cycle in the pots
Water today 100 ml with larger solo. Sprayed down top of soil close in. Last girl to loose helmet unfurled one coly and has stalled. Prolly going to be first cull. 2 plants have started 3rd set and 3 at 2 sets. All include coly.
Raised vdp to .8 staying at 75 degrees. 400 watt panel at 27% 7k lux in each pot.
Duct at 1 during lights on and stage 2 at lights out for 45 minutes during transition then back to 1 as the RH will rise at lights out.
Also scripted another save in Vivosun app. At 82% humidity and/or 85 temp the 4 inch fan comes on and app sends me an alert.

Update.
First step on gnants is identifying which post are infected. Placed potatoes cut on top of dirt and will leave for 24 hours. Looking for young worm type with a black head point about 4-6mm long. Then will dose with H2o2 at 1-3 ratio enough to wet the roots.

I totally agree OGK. Like when does a seed come in contact with paper towels in nature? Come on that's silly.
But not really.
When a seed splits in nature a portion of the seeds fail due to orientation of the tap root. If the root is up it fails. But I nature there are dozens and dozens of seeds so it does not matter.
I want to ensure the tap root is facing down and that the depth is appropriate. I can only do this by germinating outside of dirt and placing it in dirt.
There are many ways to get here and if they work all are valid

Paper is made from tress and tress rot and make the dirt sooo allways.... and the root doesnt grow in one direction if you use a timelapse camera you will see it goes like a helicopter doing circles until it hits ground.

Witch pots probably all of them. If ones affected normally the all are
I’d use nematodes myself
Good luck

I had 2 pots I had to use big box store soil. These 2 pots had 90% of the gnants the first time and 100% the second time. Still might nuke all the pots.
Looked into nemetodes. Expensive and with only 7 gnants so far since first seen I think I am still in the original gnants life cycle and I do not think I could feed a predator. Any early gnant larva came in the bags.

Best I found was 14.99 to cure a condition I have 1 natural cure ( neem ) one 02 poison ( h202 ) and one broad based non organic that it SAYS will not harm plants but I have 2 inch tall seedlings.
Should have companion planted and moved when I got my regular soil choice.

Update
Neem protocol complete. Soaked 3 cups per pot and sprayed around base. Culled the plant that never unfurled and as this was the suspect soil it is already outside.
These plants even at 7k are looking for light. 2 different seedlings are bent and reaching. Went ahead and got all lights on and moved around. Moved up to 8k and if looking ok will go to 9k at 2 pm.
Ordered another bag of soil conditioner and will fill in some edge gaps in fabric pots. I let the soil dry back a lot to get the soil dry for the gnant issue.
Replaced sticky traps and another walk around my IPM found no gnants in outer areas.
Overall the strategy of setting up the lung room just below my tent targets has really dialed in the tent enviroment. For humidity at 75% in tent I put room at 65%. For temp of 70 room is at 71. This allows a constant pull of duct at setting one. The temp is automated through a wall duct set to lower temp when needed and the humidity is set by the in room humidifier set to come on when presets are reached. working well so far.

Got my garden glimpse this weekend. For the first 2 days I was jacking the controls to get a feel for the limits of control. 86 degrees 85 RH, 65 degrees 41% RH and everything in between. The garden glimpse game gave me a poor rating for the week LOL

76 degrees .8 vdp on autopilot. Emptied thermoforge drain bucket 1/3 full added 3 oz h2o2

All 5 have progressed with no symptoms from Neem Gnant and thrip protocol. Burst of New bodies ( 6 ) and nothing since midnite. 2 plants will soon span a 16 oz cup circle and will freestyle with 2 gallon water wand.
Today I was able to do something that I have not been able to do in a long time. Very simple thing
I put some of a flower in a bowl and smoked it to ash.
I skipped cannabis for a long time. Stopped in 86 as I was signing FAA log books and was subject to screens. Restarted in 2022 and have bought dried out rock hard dispensary pot that has always needed prep. If you try burning a tip of a cola it turns into a black hunk of foul coal.
Not my pot. Mine sizzles as the red hairs catch and I have not hacked one time since I stopped dispensary weed. Sure it takes a few more rips but dispensary pot did not come with trim for Special Brownies.

Update

2 of the sprouts ( the smallest ) are showing mild signs of overwatering. Both were last out of the dirt and are 4 days behind. Neither look critical and both have second leaves and 3rd starting.
Backfilled the edges of the pots with soil conditioner and replaced sticky traps in pot. No new gnants and ran sweeper in room and re applied defender.

So temps are an issue at night. We are not running AC as it is the sweet spot in the year with open windows and allergy medication. This has the minimum temp at night to be 70 degrees. I am working on the transfer ducts for lung room but going slow. Really need this done as I need to ensure I can get lung room to 64 degrees.

Update
Watered all plants at 100ml. It has been 3 days without watering due to 3 cup neem bomb and by weight they are not ready but I know I do not have a root system yet. The moisture from the bomb lit a fire under 3 plants but the 2 little ones still struggling.

Backfill made pots look much nicer and very level.
No new gnants.
Cat puke in front of door to grow room. Thinking about stopping feeding them until someone eats it 8-(

Update.
Not feeling the auto love right now. 2 sprouts that were behind were killed by the neem bomb, one killed by helmet and a fourth looks to have been chewed up with no signs of critters.
Popped 3 more seeds as a 4x4 with 2 autos is silly. I can run 2 or 3 different light areas in the tent and I will stay at 75/68 until the new ones have 3 nodes.
Lots of learning going on this run. last auto run for sure. Need the recovery of extending veg as I do have a 3rd sprout that could recover but not as an auto.
Live and learn.

All 3 seeds popped with 1/2 inch tails. Installed in 2 5 gallon fabric pots and a 16 oz solo cup because apparently I write down everything but how far a bag of soil goes.
So lets get that out of the way a 5 gallon fabric pot mixed 75/25 HF OF will take an entire 16 quart bag of hf and 1/8 bag 1.5 cf of OF and 3 cups perlite.
so yaa solo cup.
400 watt panel at 30% 12500 lux. seeds at 25% on 300 watt units 7500 lux.
Both pots soaked 4 hours in 1 liter ro water and divot of light seed starter mix.
solo cup is a backup seed still plan on 4 but will pot it up if it looks better than one in a pot.
9 for 9 on auto seeds for germination. 2 died from neem protocol due to gnants and one was either chewed up or was some kind of genetic mutant. The first death was helmet head.

Am check one seedling 1 inch tall, 2 hulls being pushed through the dirt and a coly sticking up.
Also a real problem. I explained that I had to get a bag of soil so now my sticky traps have 4 gnats. Seedling stage is a good time for diatom clay as I can cover most of the pot top and leave a ring for watering.
Replaced trap with new to check for any more.

Lights 5k to 6200 lux at dirt level. Numbers today

Meters and sensors giving me fits today. Part of the problem is my old data is on a 31x31x63 inch tent and with 2.5 times more space to control I am seeing hi and low peaks way higher and less controlled. Old grow .2 up and down for temp and .7 up and down for humidity.
Now temps .4 up and down and 1.2% RH up and down. This will not maintain a clean vdp trace.
So Installed a woozoo fan in tent. With the remote can sweep raise lower and speed control. On floor of tent. Looks like a radar dish sweeping for incoming.
So now I got to go buy wife a fan.........
Will post improvements after 4 hours of data.
Or not!

Update
No emergence at this time.
2 older plants are doing great. Presentations look identical.
Fan and moving the heater hose resulted in a minimal decrease in variance. Still big waves. I honked the humidity up so the forge would fog up and I see the problem. The cloudforge comes in from the top and the thermoforge comes in from the bottom. The humidity trace runs a large portion up the back wall and out the top vent.
As the plants are small going to get lung room up in temp and humidity and seal up the back wall to moveable floor and prolly 1/2 way towards the front of the tent. This will increase cross currents in tent and help with distribution. Also going through notes I found where I had higher peaks in my last tent before I put a guard over the sensors to stop wind current from moving the sensors. I will also install this cover.
Moved 400 watt panel to veg setting today. Will have to do some checking on this panel. When I moved the 300 watt units to veg last grow the increase of spectrum added a 7% lux change upward. This did not happen in the larger panel. Will run some tests during service later.
No water so far cept a spray on seedlings.
75 degrees and .8 vdp
8 k in dirt for seedlings
13k plant tops.

Plan review finds me behind in lights for no reason. No stress I have got to stop being conservative just because it's an auto. It's doing great and we will run this change for 3 hours and review
400 watt panel at 35% lights 16k at tops slight wiggle from plants. No signs of gnants and 10 days since neem bomb.

Update
17 days above ground. Backfilled and topdressed with FF soil conditioner. Water rate 600 ml due to 2 inches of damp not went topdress. Planing out lst and will not top plant but bend over main in mid week 3 as needed. I do not think a circle train will work as it hamstrings my ability to pull tops around later. The goal is to have a slope in growth where you have higher tops at lower light level placement and the lower tops at higher light levels. This effectively balances the light canopy strength without having tops at max and the lowers starving for light.
Worked last grow.
Moved cloudforge to middle of tent and moved sensor out of air stream. Moved catch bucket to middle. This has resulted in another .1 temp and .2 humidity decrease in wave. Vdp trace .77-.83 wave.
2 emergence from dirt. Just out 1/4 inch. Solo cup no movement. Both have helmets. 🤬
