and if i put 4 600 in my tent like you suggest its probally gonna set on fire or its gonna look that way to a pig flying overhead with his thermo cam on.

I have 10 600's adjust-a-wings, 8 in flower and 2 in veg.. I am swapping my 8 flower 600's out with 6 1k's (think vented, for heat reasons, need to more research on this first though) wish I would have just started with 1k's to begin with. Buddy of mine has similar setup room but 1k's.. his product is much better, tighter buds and more crystal running same strain. Just need to make sure heat won't be an issue, running only a 24k mini split atm.

If you aircool/vent the hoods 24k is about right,in the summer if it cant keep up just cut off a light or two during the couple hottest months.

Honestly, 2300w doesnt do anything if the lights are to far for any substantial lumen amount to reach your canopy. 4 600s will work better Due to being able to put the plants closer to the lights for more lumens*. Its all about the lumens, fuck how bright your tent is. But if you have a bunch of larf and B buds growing down low, 1000s may work better for you. But not better than 4 600s, pruned, with a nice even canopy. :D

trust me i know whats right for my shit dont need you thinking 4 600s in a jardin 300w is going to do better then the twoo 1150 gavita lights i have in there and besides theres not even space for 4 600's in that tent enough said on this subject i think :)

Nice discussion. Ever measured how much lumen reach your plant?
Do you have a meter to measure lumen (lux)?

I use only 400W philips son-t pia plus hps with this result in 56 days without vegging.

Get your climate good in your tent and lower the lights to the max.
Add fresh air between top plant and bulb to cool and make it possible
to lower the bulb till 9" from the plants top.

Adjust a wing doesn't create extra lumen so better buy a reflector that beams the light down.
See it as a printer the more small dots (400W bulbs) the more effective the lumen are beamed
to the plants. 6x 400W will give a much better result then 4x 600W or the 1000W tomato bulbs.

Just my 5 cents,

Im simply spreading knowledge. Maybe for your next room upgrade? :D Good luck

yeah if it were a room it would be alot better but this is a slim tent so the 1150s work better :) thanks anyway km

hey symbiote what sort of results do u get with the light mover in thaat space.
i heaard the lightmover maakes the buds fluffy aand airy, is that true

I wish I knew how to post links homie! If you have the time check out some of my threads, no airy buds unless it's the genetics...I've been growing over 23 yrs and just started using a mover over the last 3 and I can say without a doubt it makes so much of a difference that I'll never grow without one dude!!

* I got 20 zips off 7 Funkberry (Pisces Genetics) a grow ago and I just harvested 3 SourFlame OG (Sin City Seeds), and M16 kush and a White S1.....I'm waiting for them to dry for a totals count. I try to put 6 plants no more than 8 in the area max. and they fill the canopy by wk 3/4 after the flip!

Why do you only talk about how good your harvest is.

Show some pictures, tell me how much watt you use and in what time.
I stopped to believe what people tell. I believe most people who show.

A small (2x3,5m) space with 10x 400W

After 56 days flowering under 400W without vegging.

wow u guys kick ass thanx for all the responses. i jus ordered a micromole 600 and a hortilux, i got a sunspot 6 ac reflector al ready so im gunna use that, think i can get away with a 400 cfm fan to cool the reflector? my spce is a 3x4, so im gonna get 50w/square foot, gunna do indicas like bubba kush. doin a nice perpetual with 4 rows of 3 plants,, 1 row for every 2 weeks. im never goin without again.....f dat shit! can u guys reccomend ne strains for this setup?

You can get good yields with a 600w, then if you ever plan on upgrading to a 1000w, you can use the 600 for veg. There are so many strains it really comes down to personal preferance.

However, I do have a question, how are you doing a perpetual with 1 light?? You can't veg and flower at the same time, unless you have a second room with another light that you didn't mention??

o i forgot i got a seperate closet 4 veg its about 2.5x8 i got a 4/4 t5 light and sum old t12 shop lights for the clones right now i have 6 la confidential moms(all clones from previous mom) and 1 early pearl mom thats really surprisin me, wider than she is taller, lime green color, and outside i got sum clones from her that have been flowering for 2 weeks already, so im thinkin i got a good indica winner for my perpetual setup.....what u guys think

That setup sounds good, I love plants that grow wider then taller because its so easy to train them and make an even canopy just by topping once or twice then tie down a few branches, its sooooo easy. Good luck on your grow.

I stopped to believe what people tell. I believe most people who show.

I guess this was meant for me, so
1) I'm at the stage in my life where I believe having to prove myself is kinda juvenile, but I think I've "proved" myself around the farm enough already, so if you wanna see my grows you'll have to use the search engine homie.....Idk how to post links anyway!
2) I only brought up harvest because I was asked. (potency is most important but I thought everybody wanted the maximum yields they could get too.....excuse me for being wrong!)
3) Some folks have plant limits like here so sea of green gardening ain't gonna cut it, when growing fewer plants you need em larger I believe and a 1k penetrates much deeper into the canopy, you have (10) 400w lights (4000w total) you have a wider footprint but your garden only has a total of 55,000 lumens throughout, I wonder if your plants get around 3' or more how developed will those bottoms be, huh?
If I had (3) 1k going (not yet, but soon!) I know I'd yield more than that, growing 100% organically too and putting that other 1000 watts of electricity into cooling!
......................just my $0.02

im thinkin of tryin dinafem critical + or suttin from the gage green line up ne reccomendations 4 seeds and banks i never ordered seeds before so its my first time gettin em from a real breeder.

I never talk for other people ... only for what I grow and you get the images for free.
4000W ain't that bad when you grow more then 1:1 gr/w in 56 days. You make 1
mistake in your thinking and don't be offended that I want to explain it to you.
You're correct that 1 400W has a 55000 lumen foot print on square meter. But
when you look you see that the distance between the bulbs is only 27cm (10").
Second the distance between the bulb and top plant is 25 cm (10") On that distance
the plant gets some 90.000 lumen. This is also the max a plant can handle. If
you give more lumen the leaves will show white burn spots.

The main buds. 56 days, no vegging and 400W bulbs.

Just for fun 1 dried main bud.

So the first meter you need is a lux meter when you build your room.

Enjoy your grow,

If a 400w bulb is rated at 55,000 lumens, how does your plants get 90,000 lumens??? Inverse Square Law, with that in mind its impossible for them to get 90k lum because the bulb itself releases only 55k lum and at 10" it already loss some of its intensity, so 90k lum is not possible, even with cross lighting from other 400's because there further away.

I'm not trying to get in an argument, I just don't want people to think a 400 is as powerful as a 600 with 90k lumens because thats very misleading.

Hi Lex,

You make a mistake in my opinion. 1 lx = 1 lm/m2 = 1 cd·sr·m–2.
The 50k is on a square of 1m2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux
So when 3 400W lamps beam on a 1m2 square at 25cm from the
bulb it is for sure 90k. When you want keep 1 meter between bulb
and plant a 400W can't compete with a 600W but when you reduce
the distance and use more 400W bulbs to get a better light spread
the 400W is better then 600W because you reduce the heat print
on a small spot with the 400W compared to 600W.

Reread my other reply and hope it is clear.
