They put out heat but nothing compared to a HPS or MH. Also the heat is from the heatsink, not so much from the light. So all the heat is up top close to your exhaust. In my tent the difference between Inside and outside of the tent is 2c. I'll be putting another one in soon, but dont think I'll add more than 1 or 2 more c.

You need another panel to cover spaceGod their bright think my old 600 HP's bulbs need changing, they look yellow now compared to these led's

The lead from the driver to the board is short because the driver is meant to be mounted on the heatsink.
If you extend those wires, be sure to use a thick gauge wire. I just mount mine on top of the heatsink, works out well.
