I don't recommend topping or super cropping any auto..their lifespan isn't long enough to recuperate from the trama..however LST is a good way to open them up and achieve more top buds..u say your jam berry is 4 weeks old now so it should be starting to flower? Although it doesn't look that way in your pics..are u positive its an Auto?..happy farmingGood morning everyone, I have a question. At what stage/age would you recommend super cropping or LSTing the autos? This is my 4 week old Jamaican Berry and she is beautifully branchy so Im thinking of super cropping her. What do you think?
Actually she is a super auto from Flash seeds and she blooms a bit later and quite a bit longer then most autos, 90 to 105 days from seed, which like its been said on this thread that they usually state a quicker maturity than what actually happens. see her info here http://www.seedsman.com/en/jamaican-berry-superauto-feminised-seeds-3I don't recommend topping or super cropping any auto..their lifespan isn't long enough to recuperate from the trama..however LST is a good way to open them up and achieve more top buds..u say your jam berry is 4 weeks old now so it should be starting to flower? That has always been my issue, lol. I was wondering if any techniques had been developed to make that work. Love this thread. Thanks for the info.
awesome reply :) I wanted to buy Led from the beggining but where too expensive! I was thinking throughly anyways about changing the light! Thanks!!!@CapnNemo the only real effect that you will have by reducing the light hours is a loss of yield. If electricity is the only factor making you want to drop the hours then I would suggest that you look into getting a 240w - 300w led light. It will easily outperform the 250w cfl and they use a lot less electricity.
LEDs come rated as the bulb quantity and wattage i.e. 100 x 3w leds = a 300w led light
but these individual leds run at 2w so they don't burn themselves out quickly hence the reason they last for 5-10 years
So a 300w led is only using 200w in reality. if you are saving a third on your electric bill (and you don't have heat issues either) then you can afford to run it 20/4 and still save money!
i don't know how you guys have so much luck with autoflowers. i have tried growing them many times and without much success. right now i have a auto sour diesel growing out doors and it is almost 2 months old and it's only around 6 inches tall. i have tried growing them indoors and outdoors, using a large container from the start and using small containers from the start. i have not fertilized and i have fertilized. this present plant i did not fertilize until about three weeks ago. every time i grow an auto they grow very slowly just as this present plant is growing now. i just ordered some wild thai lowryder in hopes that i might have more success with them .they are all sativa and i prefer sativa over indica. i live on the east coast of the us and i figure since i am getting a late start with them i can pull them indoors at the end of october if all goes well. i try to grow all organic. i use age old fertilizerawesome reply :) I wanted to buy Led from the beggining but where too expensive! i am using organic mechanics soil and age old organics ferts. i purchased the seeds from the attitude and yes the sour d is starting to flower. i haven't stressed them in anyway that i know of and they are in full sun for at least 8 hours or more per day. when i germed the three sour d seeds they all cracked but only one made it past the initial first leaf stage. i have always grown indoors but i just purchased this home around 6 months ago and i have a very good opportunity to grow a few plants outdoors since my neighbor smokes and i know he won't turn me in. i started them late (mid july) but next year i will start in the spring and that is why i hope i have some good luck with the wild thai because i won't have to wait until fall for them to start to flower and i much prefer sativas over indicas. i cannot smoke a joint of an indica without coughing my ass off. i never coughed when i smoked the sativas from the 70's and eighties. some of the best weed i ever smoked was gold colombian around 1976. i bought a 1/4lb for 120.00 and it was over 1/2 seeds but all it took was 1 hit and it was non stop laughing, i have never smoked anything as good since. the second best weed i ever smoked was gold thai stick so i hope the wild thai is a good plant. i will see if i can get a few pictures of the sour dSorry to hear of your problems, what kind of soil you in? What nutes are you using?where are your seeds coming from? Do you have any pics of this one?
The lowryder cross will probably be a short plant, but your sour D should get somewhere around 3' I would think. You say 2 months and only 6" tall, is it starting to flower yet? Mine started to flower around the 3week period around 6" tall and finished at 3 1/2 ft Tall , any stress really hurts and slows their growth.
