This takes time : ) one of the hardest things for me to get down as a new grower. The patience to wait to make that adjustment you learned. Try not to change things up to much during the grow (youll start chasing your tail in a cirlcle)trying to learn from my mistakes at the same time.

I live in Ohio and a safe date to transplant outdoors is roughly mid to late May. So I am going to start some Apple Betty Photos indoors about mid to late April starting light cycle at 6AM at 18/6....then about June 1st maybe a bit sooner Im going to transplant them into my outdoor Garden in 10 gallon fabric pots and just give them nutes every week. That means when nature will flip them to flower when the time is right....let Jesus take the wheel!!I don't know if you're on a "Time of Use" electricity billing plan, but having the lights come on at midnight and off between 6pm to midnight should be putting your cost for electricity at its lowest point than any other light schedule: off-peak rates. If you want to water earlier, your electricity might cost an extra 30 cents a day for the couple hours of on peak use, but how much is quality sleep worth?
Did you top water them in the dark or have an automated water?I should probably add also that I only water them just before the lights come on that was something that I read as well correct me if you have a better time for watering
Your exhaust fan should also eliminate any stagnant air.Another thing I should mention is I have 2 osculating fans on level one.....one is top of canopy, and the other is underneath. There shouldnt be a bit of stagnant air in that tent at all....LOL

Well being a newbie Im not sure who the breeder is but its Red Super Skunk Autoflower. I have tried finding out where I got them from but Ive only bought from two places so far and thats STRN Seeds, and The Seed Connect. Eventually I will have to find a place here in Ohio before November because if what I was reading is correct, we wont be able to buy seeds across state lines anymore, but Im not sure the full details.Good Day Droppinplates,

The sudden dip from 18 hours down to 15.5 hours can trick them into assuming the days are shortening and they'll start to flower, and it's too much daylight to keep them there so then you get hormonal wobble that's still going on when they're ready to naturally flower. The grow penalty is loss of veg growth while the plant is confused whether it should grow flowers or leaves. So if you sync to natural light leading up to the outside move, you can avoid that headache.

It's nature's prozac :). I've been growing since I was 18. That's 38 years ago. Today? I'm legally employed and get a legit paycheck for it every Friday. Nothing like hanging out with your plants after a long day. The equipment bug and more faster rut is easy to fall into. But since you said you were taking advice.... (this might go long sorry in advance)Definitely has helped my depression since being disabled at 32 has been challenging so anything to make life easier we should do in abundance the only reason I won't buy a 4x8 is because im scared it gonna become a job and I dont won't to get away from it. Infact I haven't smoked in 3 months because im going to pain managment doctor however its probably one of the most funnest things I do every single day. So I was looking at the light schedule for Ohio and the 1st of June would be a few mins shy of 15 hours of light per day. Do you think I should just start in my tent with 15 hours of light all the way til I transplant them outdoors? that way there will be no light changes from seed until natural light takes over outdoorsNo need to do it too far in advance and if you do you could accidentally send them into flower. We get hung up on the idea that a 12/12 schedule triggers flowering, but in reality its 10 hours of uninterrupted darkness. Toward the end of summer when the day length dips below 14 hours, that's what triggers flowering naturally (give or take about 10 days before or after then).
So as you're looking for a safe enough date to put theme outside, check your sunrise and sunset times for the first day of spring that will have at least 14 hours of daylight and wait another week to 10 days and then they should be safe. If you want to be in the ground even earlier you can, just give em supplemental light.

This is my first grow and Ive been a bit late at every step trying to blindly follow youtube growers, and trying to learn from my mistakes at the same time. Ive spent so much money on all equipment I need to grow some great batches proving how committed I am to learning and growing for many years to come. My girls are in week 7 and a bit smelly so far in my grow tent in my basement. Ive messed up to the point I had to flush a couple weeks ago and now I am at this stage. I know average autoflower is roughly 10 weeks life cycle, but since Im about to enter week 8 Im concerned. I keep RH at roughly 45-48 and temps for daytime: 74-76 Degrees Night: 64-68 Degrees. I have a little bit of trichomes it looks like, but nothing like ive seen here. Im giving them foxfarm trio in worm casting tea, being careful not to take my PPMs past 600-700 (trying not to force a flush til end again). I keep PH at 6.2 - 6.4 everytime. I plan on a straight watering with spring water next time with no nutes at all as sometimes I get antsy and want to forcefeed them. Can you guys give me some tips judging by the pics I post and info Ive given? Also, judging by the pics and the fact its at 7 weeks, how much more time do I have for these girls to fatten up their buds before harvesting? Guess I should've mentioned....I pop beans near end of March. If their not feminized, it'll be early June before u know what sex they are.Welcome to the farm, from another Ohio farmer. Your gonna love growing outdoors. But ya might wanna raise the height of your roof on your greenhouse, during your expansion.
And make sure your not getting hit by street lights or backyard porch lites, during the night.
I grow outside, and yes...early to mid May is transplant time. I usually go in on mother's day, if weather has been stable, and soil temps are above 50°f
So what part of Ohio are u in. I'm in the Akron area.

Im in Columbus area. My plan is to start my seeds (Photo Periods) indoors with light at 15/9 so that when I put them outdoors June 1st, The lights on hours will be the same. Obviously ill be synching up the lights on/off same time as nature. Ive been getting told outdoor growing is fun as well. Of course ill be growing in my tent indoors as well(Auto Flowers) LOL.
