It is less hassle imo and ime, and it can definitely be scaled down to any size required. I used two 5" Pvc tubes with 3 plants each in a 3x4' space, later 4x4', but recently also been playing with a mini setup for seedlings with 5cm / 2" tubes. I normally started in a small dwc box. Had some plants in dwc at the same time and the stems of the ones in NFT were much thicker, already shedding their skin.Seems like it would be less hassle than DWC and could be scaled down considerably unlike some of the ebb and flow systems I've seen.
I've seen a lot of great results with the Gro-Tanks from nurticulture @NFT uses, seems like one of the few prebuild hydro setups that is worth the money, but, also check out @Canappa's diy gutter-based setups for example.
Based on your descriptions it sounds like it's 'fasciated', which I recommend topping because the fasciated main bud (in this forum sometimes called 'mohawk') is very leafy, it's like slaw on the inside. Fasciation is generally not a good mutation imo.the freak plant has split into two at the head without topping it has also grown extra sets of leaves
Great pics again, so lush, especially the one one the left. Your pics always make me miss NFT. Got some in hempy now which get '3-5 ml of nutes per liter' too that come close to my nft plants but is a lot more work and will probably not remain "blemish-free" so long.
