It is less hassle imo and ime, and it can definitely be scaled down to any size required. I used two 5" Pvc tubes with 3 plants each in a 3x4' space, later 4x4', but recently also been playing with a mini setup for seedlings with 5cm / 2" tubes. I normally started in a small dwc box. Had some plants in dwc at the same time and the stems of the ones in NFT were much thicker, already shedding their skin.Seems like it would be less hassle than DWC and could be scaled down considerably unlike some of the ebb and flow systems I've seen.
Based on your descriptions it sounds like it's 'fasciated', which I recommend topping because the fasciated main bud (in this forum sometimes called 'mohawk') is very leafy, it's like slaw on the inside. Fasciation is generally not a good mutation imo.the freak plant has split into two at the head without topping it has also grown extra sets of leaves
Just gotta say your thread has made me consider giving NFT a go. Seems like it would be less hassle than DWC and could be scaled down considerably unlike some of the ebb and flow systems I've seen.
Your gear looks killer. I didn't read some of the longer posts so forgive me if you've answered this, but is it the genetics that are causing some foxtailing or is there an environmental reason behind this?
The reason I ask is I only see foxtailing when heat or hydration issues become apparent for extended periods of time. Personally it drives me nuts, creates hollow looking buds. Also, what is the total liquid volume of the individual NFT systems?
Those root mats look cool as hell and root removal can be accomplished in seconds instead of hours like when working with reusable media of any type. I take it there is some wicking action that occurs, pulling water up to the roots exposed to the air. Am I correct in this assumption?
Super healthy looking set up, has gears turning in my head. Thanks for sharing @NFT.

Hey NFT great to see another NFT grower on the farm. Here is my system been doin NFT for over 20 years....https://www.thcfarmer.com/community/threads/my-200-00-nft-rain-gutter-system.60308/
I just germinated some mothers milk , from description it sounds unique and dank . Does it have the traits in your phenos ?
Anyways kudos and hope for the best! (Subbed)
Chopped the clones down today, root mat below , mothers milk still growing/filling the space she is covering a 4 x 2.5 ft space at just over 3ft high now she has been bent over
i bent the head of the tallest one over as it just did not stop growing it was getting annoying
i have also removed alot of growth from the mutant plant so the one behind it that isn't a mutant can have more light and space
peace
Way too cool man. Love this root porn for some reason. Maybe because it just looks exotic and nice all organized in its rectangle shape.
