I dropped my patients but still give them free weed when they call/ask for it. Fuck...why not? Kinda hard to charge em when I never did before and was able to get rid of the excesses to the dispensary/outside market.

Seeing folks faces when you give em a QP someone else wants $800 for...and hearing them say they wouldn't have had ANY meds next month without the gift... is priceless. Thought one guy was gonna offer me his wife for a second there...LOL...

Thankfully..we don't need the $$/aren't dependent on the $$. Kinda just old habit now.

Keep pushin it and hittin it hard, kids. That just means they'll be lookin at you before they look at me!

So, it appears we've gone from being merely outlawed to being regulated out of existance.

The oldest American tradition is privateering; also known as smuggling. The business is older than the Constitution- what's changed are the items being smuggled; where once it was tobacco and alcohol, now it's pot and assault rifles.

Funny, I was flipping through channels the other day and caught a CSPAN "educated panel of experts" on Cannabis Legalization and State/Federal Law implication. One thing pretty much all agreed on, and forsee happening, is Feds stepping back and allowing this whole thing to play out. That if they don't, the over regulated states like CO, will take a step back in regulation/taxation and make it that much more difficult (and against the folks votes) to police. That simply with amendments like 64 that allow personal grows, theres no way to police/regulate/use resources efficiently when every adult can have a home grow. What did that lead to? Taxation. They all realize this will be a booming business, and what they need to happen is fair taxation or else the black market will flourish and on a scale of people growing that can't be controlled/regulated. They didn't say individuals will be allowed to play, but insinuated that if the legit biz is overtaxed- then the individuals WILL become players.

I personally do not forsee home growers/caregivers being able to sell to retail regardless- no way to regulate/tax grows. But like i said before, im sure there will be some sort of the same green rush for retail supply licensing much like 1284. That if a grower wants to step up and get into a warehouse- large or small- and pay the dues to serve retail...bet it'll be possible. And that should be ample and fine, cuz not everybody wants to try and compete on that level and those will to evolve and supply the best should be allowed to. Or you will see those growers picked up by companies that can afford to compete.

IMO if smaller growers want to make an extra buck, something like farmer's markets should be in line. I also think there are many other avenues in the grow/production world that are not being discussed that will be as much/more lucrative than just selling flowers.

They could require a culitivation liscense with a fee, testing, and possible inspections, then require a 1099 for every transaction, it is actually pretty easy or you could set it up like a CSA where everyone buys in from the get go as well as get taxed on ongoin product input into the CSA..

Contract labor and product sales is not any new thing..the problem is with no banks in the game there is no way for them to track anything at all..no matter what ammendment your talkin about...until they have a financial institution that can hold on to the money, it is all dead in the water..Plus when the feds took away all the deductions no need to track anything anyways, just income, for everyone.

And trust me. plenty of people still sell into the despensary system in Colorado, for alot of outside vendor/producers nothing ever really changed..manifest from OPC to the despensary, travel iteneraries, onsite wieght management, plant count management forms, etc..all a total farce, means absolutely nothing in reality, no one is watchin the hen house, especially not the MMED. Sure the despensaries fill the forms out with some of the most arbitrary and unfounded numbers you could ever imagine....when merchant accounts with credit card companies where dropped, they just put ATM machines in the despensaries lobby, which worked out better for them anyways, they get a cut of all the transaction fees on the machine then, as well as get paid in all cash all the time....the cash business aspect of it all still makes it very very easy for the despensaries to buy in and sell product from wherever and whoever, no one would ever know and they sure don't now..tradin weight for weight amunst thierselves is another silly way to skirt any dollar/profit/expense trail at all...It is really just about as crazy as it ever was, bendin, twistin, breakin, the rules...I would say your just as likely to be able to sell a lb or two to a despensary today as you were 4 or 5 years ago..just gotta make it happen..most have turned out to be such shitty growers that their huge high dollar setups are still costing them to run, didn't help that alot of the cheated real growers outta the game..alot have gottin back to a fixed cost by buying product in and shuttin down alot of their warehouse capacity...goin big ain't easy

I read some article on the Internet said like 50% off all Cigs sold in New York were illegal... so, given the ATF still can't squash illegal cig sales, I'd say as long as there are 30 or so States where weed is illegal, we'll have plenty of black-market demand here in Colorado. Just food for thought, though, not suggeting anyone get involved in any illegal activity unless they understand the consequences.... selling in Colorado is one thing, a State Crime at the worst.... selling weed destined for other states is a Federal Crime, and way more harsh punishments apply.

I haven't read any of the previous messages on this thread..... but .....

I'm coming here to say I have inside knowledge that the cannabis business associations, specifically, CBA and MMIG are both going to push to continue "vertical integration" in the new retail model. This means private growers can not sell to the dispensaries.

Wanna know how I think you all can defeat CBA and MMIG on this???

CBA and MMIG are all loaded with despensary owners and there is no way they want to open the doors again to the masses, especailly after the state forced them all to invest heavily in these giant warehouse grows..those guys are goin to do everything they can to keep it a closed loop, even if that means that the product most produce and have access to is inferior to what the cottage growers put out.....they would have been all for right up till the point the state made them all become commercail growers whether they wanted to or had the skills or not. If I was forced to setup, staff, a operate a $500,000 facility, I would be insane to want to have to compete with a basement grower that is all in at $10,000 and no overhead..the other thing they can do is bolster the local law enforcement to put the lockdown on caregivers and people with extended plant counts in order to stifle the little guy and push everyone the the state liscensed pot shops....if no one can have over 6 plants in any circumstance or they are breakin the law it will only force way more volume to the state outlets...

A 90 day boycott on all despensaries would stop it all IMO, they would pretty much have to shut down their grow ops or just hemerage cash and not many can afford to do that, the tax base would evaperate...if ya understand how growin and sales cycles work in this industry, at the 90 day mark you would be outta business with no income..then we could reboot the industry...might not even take 90 days...this is a fantasy opinion but it could work

I'm out of a chop TIL spring and no one answers their phone LOL.

Forced to clinics for the time being. Sucks!! But at least it is affordable.

Wish I could help spread the word, but I hate those do as I say not as I do people, which is what I'd be doing

I've been toying with the idea of printing some "Friends Don't Let Friends Smoke Dispensary Weed" bumper stickers and slappin' 'em all over the State.

The first one would go on Rob Corry's car...the second...over Matt Cook's mouth.

Great idea, TK. Other than the DEA comin in and whackin ass....cuttin off the funds is about the only other way to nixx this model. Problem is, there are too many idiots out there who only want things to be EASY who keep patronizing these places.

Grow an extra plant 'er two....give some bud to yer friends. Gifting less than an ounce is completely legal now. (They can pay you later). LOL.

I think any entrepreneur would be insane to back a $500,000 marijuana business with all the uncertainty surrounding the industry currently. Any county can ban you, the gov't is going to tax and regulate the shit out of you and there will be license fees and many, many other costs associated with operating a business of this sort. If they regulate the potency that will be the straw that breaks the camels back. Funny watching another thread talking about how everybody is going to move here and become a millionaire. Not me boys..gonna just sit here and tend my little boutique garden.

Vertical integration will destroy the taxing system as it was written into A64. Taxing Mj is to occur on the wholesale to retail transaction. If there is no wholesaler - there is nowhere to collect the tax. This alone should be enough to stop this idea.

Furthermore, an independent license was written into 64. If VI is allowed what use are these independant licenses?

TK does have a good idea. A boycott of their dispensaries would be a right proper way to get their attention. However the thing with boycott is you have to "go big or go home". In as such, and knowing how hard it is to organize people, much less 100 people to boycott 50 stores... I suggest we/you/us chip in now and build a defense fund that will be used to buy Facebook advertisements announcing the boycott.. I am more than happy to throw down $500 in matching funds to start this.....
*The MMCs are experiencing good sales, and have been, so this method will not hurt them cash wise - just politically and their public image... and that isn't good for a just starting industry....

I put the list of MMIGs board of directors on here again, and I am sure CBA lobbyist Kristen Thomson would leak the list again.... They say they represent 50 MMCs, but knowing more than most, those 50 stores are owned by about 15 people....

oh... and how could I forget... the Capital hill marijuana lobbyists, specifically Kara Miller (MMIG) and Kristen Thomson(CBA) are despised by a large group of legislators.

Seems the mmj lobby did not fight for any politicians... They, the mmj lobby, just asked favors from them and got no backing in return come this last election. So..........
