"not many folk around here i know, believe i know a canadian" I take offense to that remark, not many folk around here i know, believe i know a canadian though, glad to see you back bro mater chip,i been doing better ,still getting stronger every day, hope the same for you mate
You’re off to a good start aquaman. I have never soaked the seeds in water. What’s the benefit of doing that? Is it to soften the shell? I usually just do the wet paper towel and ziplock bag way. Looking forward to your journal and keeping an eye on that sunshine #4 mix as it’s readily available close by. Happy grows.Ok 3 days since I plopped soaked but ungerminated seeds into the mix and half are up. I buried them a bit deep this time and was getting a tad worried since I totally changed this germination from what I usually do.
I think I will go back to 18hr soak then into paper towel/coffee filter method until germinated and plant tap root down in jiffys. This time I just plopped em in after soaking pointy side anyway if fell lol.
So room is hovering at 65-68% RH
Temps 82-85f
Soil temp 76
No water yet but likely tomorrow will give em some tap water.
No CO2 yet.
And a pic of the newbies.

Thank bud... Soak is yes to soften the shell and one of the activation key to germinate is moisture. Soak from 16-18hrs is what I like no longer than 24hrs and if the split during soak ya wanna take em out sooner than later. If ya do 16-18hrs for me it works like a charm everytime. You’re off to a good start aquaman. I have never soaked the seeds in water. What’s the benefit of doing that? Is it to soften the shell? Same here anyone got a paper towelHey aquaman , im new here so im not familiar with your grows , you seem to have a lot of kind friends here , glad that i got here in time to find a new passionate grower with a group of helpful supporters , looking forward to your grow , thanks for sharing .......
Drooling over the box already
same here the vermiculite works great in pots for tomatoes in hot weather but when I first started growing indoors this fall that was mistake number 1 for me...Course I'm all the way up to mistake number 59 by nowYeah, real curious to see how this vermiculite goes for you. It never worked well for me. Always seemed to keep things too soggy, and grows just didnt turn out great. Then I found promix and never looked back at ol' vermiculite.
That may be why it will work for me... I run my room pretty warm and may try to push that a little more with the extra space I have.same here the vermiculite works great in pots for tomatoes in hot weather but when I first started growing indoors this fall that was mistake number 1 for me...Course I'm all the way up to mistake number 59 by now
I went this route (soaking 17 hours), I'm glad I did, Homegrown Cannabis Co only guarantees paper towel method which is a big negative in my book as I don't want to use it & don't know why I should be required to use it if I don't want to. Anyhow I lived dangerously & it worked out 100% (though one of six grew inverted) at least this time. You’re off to a good start aquaman. I have never soaked the seeds in water. Forgive me if you've posted this, what humidifier do you use for your space?
they have a 6L one I would recommend over my dinky little thing. I don't need much because it's a completely sealed room. But any ultrasonic humidifier is good
Haha my wife got attached to mine in our room during winter. After I set the room back up she wanted to keep it in there. I said no problem I was looking for a reason to go buy a kick ass one anyhow... Well that got me my humidifier back lol.awesome, thanks! now i can give my kids their humidifier back, once one of these guys arrive haha
so we can still go 20/20???Dug up the last seed... Late bloomer has a 1inch tap root so replanted and there is hope yet
I think we will.so we can still go 20/20???
