I just pulled the trigger on 4 kingbrite 240v 3000k 301h with cree xpe2 660nm. Just wanna make sure their aren't any recent breakthroughs in led technology I didn't know about.

I’d say the bar style LEDs are a bit more popular than the boards now because they have more even coverage. It’s all Samsung 301b chips though
 
Yeah I only went with boards cause it's cheaper and I can adjust height individually. I noticed when I was reading up on the technology ask the posts and forums are from 2020 seems every light or now is full spec samsungs and 660nm. Can't complain ive had excellent results.
 
From a selling stand point, the boards make total sense above all the others but growing wise, you could probably get better results using quality COBs or high powered diodes but there aren't many commercial companies selling them so you'll have to build them yourself.
