To restrict height on my bonsai mommas, I just trim the tap root. Slams the vertical brakes on quick.

I didn’t say it’s fucking up, but yes, if your containers held more nutrient rich soil, even your plants would grow larger. If I said something illogical let me know. Small soil source runs out of room for the roots to continue search for nutrients.
