You know, in my experience, and I know there are people who would back me up on this, it happens quite often that freebie beans are some of the best stuff you'll ever pop. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense, these seed companies put out freebies to try and entice people to buy their seeds so, why wouldn't they put out seeds from their best stock for that?
I had a Kandy Kush freebie bean from Reserva Privada and that was hands down some of the best weed I've grown, in all honesty, if I had to choose, I think I might even say that it was the best I've had/grown, I bought two packs of them and never got anything even close to that first one. I've had other freebies that were kick ass too.
Of course, every freebie isn't going to be gold, that would be crazy, but don't just dismiss those freebies, you might kick yourself in the ass if you didn't bother to clone something that you'd want to keep. I don't know if you have much ability for hanging on to strains anyway I guess.
I know I still haven't stopped beating myself up over not cloning back when I had 2 or 3 different things I've had. Damn it. :banghead:
Everything that has been done stress wize is in my journal and applies to all 4 ladies.
But if I were to list them in order I'd say
Veg training
1.) First topping (along with branch manipulation for canopy management)
2.) Second topping (with canopy management^)
3.) Defoliating lower leaves and branches during mainlining training.
Once trained I flipped to flower.
No stress for first 3 weeks until I defoliated leaves off all 4 plants top %50 of branches.
Then at the last day of week 6 I defoliated the remaining lower half of all the ladies. Most of the leaves were very yellow and dying/wilting. They all pulled off easily with a light tug.
Watering/feeding consists of.
I feed nutrients until the soil is drenched but with minimal runoff (keep it close to 0 runoff). After watering I use the pot weight to determine when they need more usually it's 2-3 days later. But then I rotate between feed/water/feed/water etc.
I aerate my nutrients for a day or 2 before feeding so the microbes populate the jug & make things more bio available. While dissolved oxygen raises the ph closer to neutral and keeps anaerobic bacteria alive.
I also stay on the lower side of any feeding charts.
All 4 plants have been on diminishing light schedule since seedlings through the end of flower. But my photoperiod changes are all small (15mins a week in flower) and applied over a long period of time.
I'm sure there's a chance maybe a nanners never fully emerged from the flower. But I've kept a watchful eye on them throughout the whole cycle. Never to see a thing.
If there were any nanners or pollen sacs. Wouldn't it have pollinated every other plant too? I mean the clip on fan is pointed right In front of the plant in question.
Could the clip on fan have stressed the plant? It is positioned above the canopy line blowing towards the tent center keeping the canopy cool from the light created off the cooltube.
Here is a closeup shot of the SDXQ #1. It was already posted above^ but I noticed it has a potential seed in the picture.

I have come down with a bad cold the past 4 days or so, so far. Today lights came on. I walked over and opened the tent.
And with a tissue plugging each nostril from dripping (don't judge me, this sickness has left my nose a faucet of snot). Along with being completely stuffed up very odd sensation..
I opened the tent and the air drawn through my mouth I could smell/taste the plants in the air.
I decided to clip off the only 2 larf buds in the tent.

This was so that I could eat them raw. Cannabis has many medical benefits. Including antiviral & antibacterial properties.
So I chewed them up and ate them raw. Along with 4 or 5 tiny fan leaves I could spare. I'm on my way to bed now so I ate them just now. Figured it would give it time to work while I'm resting.

Good morning and thanks for sharing as usual. Hope you get to feeling better and don't overwork yourself. :)
Thanks @Moto.
Luckily/unluckily I'm not working since last Friday.
I won't be back to work until after I can get a surgery and go through whatever recovery is assigned for my hernia.
I have a consult with a surgeon on monday.
Sorry friend about your health issues and keep us updated. Your ladies have been looking lovely on a positive note. Hope you get to feeling better and if there is anything I can help with just shoot me a message or tag me. :)

I've been perusing the forum a lot.
And hanging out by my ladies whenever the lights are on.
I'm sure they love the attention.
The cat has also been spending a lot of time on my lap and around me. Maybe she can tell.

On another positive note I'll probably still be off work when harvest time comes. That's pretty exciting.
It's amazing how it just drains the life out of you isn't it?hope it goes well.I'll be automating the room next run so I can get mine handled.between kids, the garden, and pain management I've been in a world of hurt the last year.I wouldn't wishould it on anyone
I feel you there brotha. I've had my share of those situations unfortunately as well. It really can demasculate you if you let it. If you have a good woman, which it sounds like you do, then let her fill her role as your caretaker for now. Right now its her turn to hold you down til you get better. I've had two separate hernia surgeries and also a back surgery as well. You'll be back on your feet before you know it and back to fulfilling your role at home. Until then heal your mind and your body, stay up and let your lady take care of you. Its only temporary and on the bright aide it looks like you have some top shelf meds on the wayI agree. It doesn't just drain the life out of me. It is temporarily changing my views on a lot.
For example the other day my wife had to go to the store with me so I could have her carry things. She was carrying a full basket along with 3 gallons of water by hand lol. Made me look like a complete ass/dick making her do all the heavy work.
I offered her I'd get a cart. But I think she enjoyed making me look bad.
I can't seem to lift more than a gallon without causing pain/trouble.
She has to take the garbage out.
She has to drive me places (I can drive but the seat belt places too much pressure on the wrong areas)
And all the physical conditioning from work the past year I've built up.
Is slowly deteriorating and will probably be gone after a month of almost no physical activity :speechless:. From before the surgery and after (recovery).
I'm placed in this state of emasculation of not full filling all my roles/duties as a man :speechless:.
from this physical state of deterioration.
My ability to provide for my family via work is gone until after recovery.
It's as if my whole identity of being a man is slowly slipping away.
And it's very depressing.
I've gone from a man who could do anything.
To just someone who can do very little.

Hey R please take a moment and tell Momma to stop using you as a sex toy and to lighten up on you. :) Tell her I blame her for your hernia. :p LMAOThanks @Moto.

I had to laugh because I have the same disposition to asking for help as you do. As far as recovery time I had my surgeries done 15+ years ago and they weren't done laparoscopically so the recovery time is way shorter now. I was back to construction in about a month, maybe just over. Now I think its like a week and you can go back to light duty. As far as long term effects after the initial healing which took me about a full year or so( probably due to heavy lifting) there were none. They have never bothered me since and I work out pretty hard about 5 days a week even. Surgery sounds scarier than it really is on routine things like this. Unfortunately I've had 4 all together but they have made it way less intrusive than it used to be. You will be stronger on the other side bro.Thx @incogneato.
I agree with your words on changed roles. It's just hard for me to accept those changes (I'm a little stubborn).
She is great and does whatever she can.
My whole life I almost never ask for help (very self reliant). So it is hard for me mentally to accept that I can't rely on myself until I'm better. asking for help is hard for me. Maybe it's a life lesson I need to learn.
But like you said this is just a temporary inconvenience. And it's this inconvenience that is driving me to get it done asap.
You said you've undergone 2 hernia surgeries?
I have a few questions to ask from someone with experience in this area if you don't mind.
How was your experience from the surgery?
What was the recovery period like?
How long does it take?
Long term have you noticed anything permanent bothering you? Like stiffness of the areas, long term pain, discomfort during high activity levels?
How long ago was it and have you had any of them reoccur?
And last how was your overall experience with the situation before surgery, during surgery, and recovery?
Sorry to ask so much. Just trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect. That way I can be ready for it.
