I've been trying to squeeze more soil in there without adding height.

Seems the pots get taller before they get wider.

So my only option was to consider all my options and find a wide pot to fit my dimensions. Then cut off vertical height.

My space in there is ×"22×"22×"15.
And my clearance from floor to light fixture is "10.

So I'm gonna have to take this "19 wide pot and make it about "6 tall.

This will allow me to fill "5 with dirt while leaving the extra "1 for catching water and holes drilled for training.
That should leave me "5 vertical height for flowering.

I will end up moving my t5 fixture more central in the lower chamber to help with light distribution.

I'm just imagining how flat this plant will need to be lol.

I also had a hard time finding wide pots. I considered building boxes out of wood but we'll see what we get from the fabric pots first. That is gonna be a short ass plant for sure tho lol

I just did some math and if I take this 15g pot trimmed to spec to accommodate "19W×"5H of soil.
I will have %33.33 of its initial volume.

So it should be equivalent to a 5 gal pot.
That could yield a lot in that small space.

For the upper chambers 15g pot depending on height, will have these possible volumes.

"9= 8.9 gallons
"10= 10 gallons
"11= 10.99 gallons
"12= 11.99 gallons

I'm leaning towards "10 but I need lights to come on so I can take measurements first.

I found a bigger t5 fixture that will fit in my lower chamber. I thought my 8 bulb was all I could fit.

Turns out the same brand now makes a 12 that will fit.
https://www.amazon.com/T5-Grow-Light-Fluorescent-Hydroponic/dp/B00PJ8B62Y#nav-search-keywords

They have a 16 bulb but it's "1.5 too big on one side.

I will probably end up getting the 12 bulb if I'm planning on making little bushes in the lower chamber. It would bring my lumens per cubic ft up to 5,000+per cubic ft. I'll wait on that decision for now.

I took this picture for another thread but though it was a good visual. Thought I'd post it here.

It's a picture of the mixed spectrum bulbs in my t5 fixture located in my lower chamber.

T5 flicker in pictures.
So although some look dull in the pic I assure you they are all very bright and brand new still.

One day I want a 2×4 tent with (2) 8 bulb t5's mixed spectrum. I bet that it would do well.

I may have an idea as to why your t5 flicker so much is either the temp is to low with the higher temps, or it could be on it's last leg :(

It doesn't flicker at all in real life.

When using a camera it's has a similar thing to hid but different.
You see how the bulbs looks uneven in color from left to right. It's a wave of electricity traveling through the tube. So every picture is slightly different.

It has been 8 weeks and 2 days since my surgery.

Between week 7 and now I've made some progress. I saw the surgeon last Friday. I was still having a good amount of pain on my left side.

Explained it all to him about how I felt. The burning stabbing sensations from my left side. They were quite intense and I couldn't control them.

He was a little hesitant to answer questions. It's almost as if we were arguing/talking over each other to get our points across. It's like arguing with family (no offense @jumpincactus ). He said what do you want me to do.

I suggested about how online I read doctors giving their patients muscle relaxers to ease the tight muscles. And how I could use it with stretching to loosen things up.

He suggested my walking on the treadmill and stretching were aggravating it and told me to stopped until it felt better.

But I knew better. I went home and looked at anatomical maps of human musculature. Then I pinpointed the muscle that was causing me trouble.

I did this by utilizing various stretches engaging different muscles until I found relief. I took my muscle relaxers ahead of time to relax.

Once I found my exercises I discovered my psoas was shortened and tight. This is from sitting in a chair for 2 months while healing with shoulders rolled forward and hip angled forward and up. The lower abdominals in that area are also tight and short.

So everyday I have been stretching multiple times after taking my relaxers. As well as trying to move in the ways I did before surgery. Turns out I stretch a lot of muscles just how I bend and twist normally.

I also have been focusing on engaging my abdominals more while walking and doing things. After letting them relax for so long during healing. It was hard learning how to subconsciously keep them engaged now.

This has helped reduce my pain greatly and I expect it to go away with time, stretching, and muscle training in the repaired areas.

I thought 6-8 weeks was a general goal and I feel like I made it just at the long end of it lol.

The reason I write all this tonight is because wife wouldn't get me wendys. She went to bed.

So I for the first time in 2 months found the motivation to attempt driving... to get wendys. I must admit I had a specific craving I had to fulfill. And I couldn't rest until it was.

I made it there and back.
Got a double baconator, spicy go wrap, and chicken sandwich. Don't call me fat I've gone from 180lbs working with muscle to 165lbs right now :'-(. I've lost 15lbs during recovery I deserve to eat lol.

I am doing well people. It's a slow road to recovery.

You've got the right attitude about it brotha. Its definitely good for you to be moving more at 8 weeks. Even better that your stretching. Just Don't over do it.

I won't overdo it.
I like to listen to my body.
If I stretch I lightly and slowly apply tension to the target. And if I hit a tense spot I just wait until the stretch relaxes that spot and the stretch goes deeper.

My goal as of now is to focus strictly on stretching everyday. Then once my limber-Ness has returned with no pain I will start doing light physical activity.

I walk on a treadmill every other day. I do .7-.8mph for 1 mile. I walk slow while making very slow controlled walking motions. This allows the muscles, ligaments etc in the rehabilitation area to slowly and gently get used to the motions of activity again.

I don't think I'll be back to work until next calendar year. I still have much training to do before I'm physically ready.

Boy am I lucky to have a wife to support me through these hard times.

Boy am I lucky we don't spend a lot on our daily/monthly lives.

Boy am I lucky I put my money away while the money was good.

Boy am I lucky things are better and not worse.

Boy am I lucky I found a free treadmill on the sidewalk last year and decided to bring it home (boy has it helped)

I am just very fortunate in my life.
I feel like I must have done some positive things in my past lives.

Done some bad things too but most were minor things I've learned from.

Overall I think being a genuinely good human being on a daily basis can go a long way in karma's eyes.

I feel like the universe is looking out for me:)

Right on brother i too have become a stretcher over the last year. I have one reconstructed knee and the other is just banged up from years of snowboarding in a wide stance. But stretching especially after a warmup really relaxes me and takes my weight off the knees. kinda realigns everything if you know what I mean.
Good luck with the recovery!

Update on seedling street.

Things are going well.
The big 3 seedlings are starting to develop nice 2nd nodes.

The runt is also making progress of its own.

Can't wait to see what this runt turns into.

I'm getting ready to feed the seedlings.

I shook up my nutrient jug (bubbler) to help break up the microbial/fungal colonies and agitate the contents.

I then poured some off into a Pyrex to be more easily dispensed into a smaller 2 oz measuring beaker.

I feed each clone 2 oz of nutrient solution. That is usually enough to saturate %90 of the soil in the 4 inch pots.

I wanted to show you guys these little living colonies in the nutrients.
20161124 120218

20161124 120424

Since I started growing I have not cleaned my nutrient aeration jug.
I wanted to have the biozeus microbes and the mychorizae fungi set up shop in the jug and colonize.

I figured once they got hold. Everytime I add new nutrient batches the speed of digestion and microbial population growth will increase. They seem to live on the jug walls. Agitation knocks them loose over time then they are fed to the plants. I'm sure they also survive in the soil.

I call them treats because the plants seem to love em. I make sure each seedling gets 1 nugget during each feeding. I try to get it to land at the plants base. That way it soaks down into the soil and to the root system.

The first time I gave the runt one she started showing noticeable changes.
They love em. Must be full of all sorts of goodies the plants want.
